Is anyone else heading to one of these games.
I have tickets to the first leg of the Central Coast v's Newcastle game in newcastle. Hopefully newcastle can get a win, but on not confident given their current form.
The other game, Sydney V's Adelaide has me very interested and I think the two games should be absolute crackers.
I'm tipping Central Coast (damn it hurts to say that) and Adelaide as winners of the semis (to be played over two legs home and away)
SO who else is following this, or am I alone???

I would love to see sydney host the grand final because I think you guys would go close to filling Aussie Stadium, but I think over the two legs Adelaide will scrap through.
I have to agree with good luck to us next year, I can't see the Jets digging themselves out of the form slump they are in.
Got my tickets though so fingers crossed for a good game.

yes i can see where you coming from.........unfortunately, even though we hold a 2-1 win/loss record this year against them.
yes i dont think the jets will last but suprises can be installed at the most un-suspecting of times:D

Well, Newcastle just went down 1-0 in a pretty entertaining game. We played a lot better than in previous weeks and the game could have quiet easily gone the other way.
The crowd was announced as 10,500 which really dsurprised me because it looked more like 15,000. You get that.
Really looking forward to watching tomorrow nights game, should be a cracker.

Like I said, I'm really looking forward top tonights game. I don;t think there has been a boring Sydney v's adelaide game this season.
As I can't see us bouncing back next week in gosford, who ever loses really had better thump the central coast.

newcastle can still do a lot of damage for F.C next weekend by hurting the marinas cycologically, still anythings possible.

If Sydney end up hosting the Grandfinal I think I will make the trip down.
Actually a Sydney - Central Coast (or even newcastle) final would be awesome as there would be decent amounts of away supporters turn up.
Hurting the psycologically though, Hmmm we still owe them a smashed leg for the Nick Mrja (sp???) tackle on Durante at the start of the year. We can inflict some physical damage I think.

aslong as adelaide isnt in the final its alright. cause...
A) i dont like adeliade:p
B) all of the other 3 teams are between sydney and newcastle which means supporters wouldnt have to travel a long way.
Well if newcastle owe them a broken leg, ouch i hate to think what pain they could inflict????

Hey Kammy, just noticed that you are a referee.
Tell me, what have your thoughts been on the standard of the refereeing of the games this year. Personally I think that the standard of the refs has remained at what it was in the old NSL and really hasn't stepped up a level as has the rest of the league.
I may be just seeing it as a one eyed supporter, but as a ref, how have you seen the reffing this year????

Which games are we talking about 1st off?
some of the refereing performances IMO have been atrociuos(sp), while others have been impressive. the way the referee conducts themselves in the 1st 10 minutes for me says wether they are going to have control of the game or not.
for me some of the penaltys that were given were a joke, the way players react from a bump gives me the shits:mad: where they get a bump then go down crying and want the trainer* should be an automatic caution *
some games were done exelently others well we wont talk about.
having said all that im only 16yrs old, im in the Development Squad with my local district (KDSA) which is for up and coming refs or ones who do state level refing ( top division NSW Youth League) so my opinions compared to others will be very different.
Mark Shields and Matthew Breeze IMO are the best going around at the moment.

GO SYDNEY F.C:p
2-2 all draw with adelaide was a good result even though adelaides second goal was soft and pathetic:cool:

Great game the adelaide Sydney game. Awesome attacking first half with a tactical second half.
The return leg should be awesome.
I haven't been overly inpressed with Matthew Breeze this year. Personally, I have found the quality of the refs to be really low. Inconsistancy being the big problem. Hopefully they can sort that out.
Just heard that Newcastle goal keeper Liam Reddy has been called by the FFA to front the tribunal for an unreported incident where he stomped on a Mariners player. While I think he was in the wrong, where has the tribunal been the rest of the season?? Looks like we will need a new keeper this weekend.

to be honest yes we played excellent but we should have won. Adelaides second goal was a soft as butter, simple set piece with clint bolton being in no mans land:confused:

.
after i wrote my reply last night i spent a fair while thinking about what i said and i was wrong in saying Mattew Breeze cause i was wrong, hes performances havent been as good as the FFA would have hoped seeing as he is one of the better refs** supposedly**
gosh i hope they sort it out as there are some seriously talented referees refin the NSW Premier League.

yeah i read that this morning in the paper. yes im not going to disagree what he did was wrong, but as you said where have they been.
theve been hiding at FFA headquaters waiting for the perfect oppurtunitie to screw a team up in the finals:eek:

The word is that they are expecting 30,000 plus in sydney on sunday plus a sell out on friday in gosford.
Should be two great games.
If Reddy get suspended, I think he deserves it, but its crazy that they are reviewing this but not Veart's antics from the Adelaie game. I can't work it out.

that would be awesome. im thinking of getting tickets with some mates but we shall wait and see.
good luck to all.
he should be suspended but other incidents which were worse go un-noticed:confused:

Just got back from a few weeks in SA (Eyer Peninsula) and I thought the coverage the games (the adelaide ones) got in the paper were pretty good, but ABC National radio couldn't give a toss if it wasn't the cricket or AFL.
From what I heard they were all pretty good games though. I'm still no fan of the MAriniers style of play, but I think sydney will be in for a tough game. My tip 2-1 to sydney.
Enjoy your success this season Kammy because you know that Newcastle will take it out next season.
I'll be watching the final on fox, but only because my brother inlaw didn't get enough tickets.

Good game, if CC could have done a repeat of the first half I think they would have had it, but sydney to their credit lifted.
Yorke showed his class in the second half and how good did the Cove and Marinators look.
I've been pretty damn happy with the a-league this year (other than newcastle coming 4th) and can't wait for the next season, lets hope its bigger and better.
I agree with you there sammydog, CC were all over Sydney for the first half, and I was very pleased to see them lift. Sydney played well as a team in the second half, with some great combinatiosn up front, unfortuantely some pretty poor passes from Yorke, notably two of his cross field passes that were intercepted or almost intercepted. Very happy to see Sydney win!
