there good, its my first bike with suspension so i cant really compare them but they feel good. ive only ridden on concrete so far so no testing on the dirt yet.

im going to be doing mostly trails with some downhill etc.

Sweet bling on the wheels and flats, mate! ;)

But nah, seriously, have fun with the Manik, I had an 05 model and loved it to death.

Does the 06 still have the dodgy Titec Berzerkr seat, god that thing was unpleasant...

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!
I am so jealous of you mate, I get mine in the first week of March, just after the interschools(crap!), and to top it all off, it doesn't come with the tripples.
Nice bike anyway.

a guy who rides belair has an 06 manik and his drop offs were like rubber bands. No matter how hard you tried you could only ever get them to compress at half way, and the rebound was faster than a bullet - you'd get back double what you'd give ;) he also had a bit of trouble with them topping out... but he got them checked by his lbs and they played around with the air and they feel pretty nice now.

but yeh i wouldn't mind a manik for a second bike... i had a quick ride on an 05 one and the drop offs felt sweet as... practically the same as 888s or Boxxers - like sex on the beach  :D

Ah well... enjoy your new ride!

So did you miss out on the first batch of the 06 maniks?

That looks sweet, I thought the 06 Manic had single crown forks

I think (if my memory serves me right) that there were two batches of 06 maniks - first one came with triples, second with crowns

EXACTLY right.

We completely sold out of Maniks w/ triples, so Canada offered us a few extras from their market, which explains the single crown version.

Tops rig mate, enjoy ya new toy ;)

Surely people would rather the SC versions than the triples?. More manouvaralbility. But do the SC's come with the same amount of travel

Once you've got those triples dialled, they're fine. Play around with the air in them, and maybe replace the fork fluid to a 10wt...maybe, it's personal preference, but that's what I did to my 05 Manik.

Have fun, they're lovely bikes!

Can't wait to get my 05 Torrent though...;)

Canada ran out of tripples, and it pisses me off this[-------------------] much!! nah, i suppose getting a manik with singles isn't so bad, i mean, it could prove a bit more helpful when i'm freeriding and stuff.
Just out of interest, does having a quick release axle make a fork really bad or not?
Does the dropp off 4s (the sinlges on the second batch of maniks) have any adjustability?
Also, jamsta, do you know when the second batch of maniks arrive in bike shops, as I really can't wait to get mine.

The drop off 4's come with 150mm of travel, 20mm less thn the tripples.

yeah the drop off tripples are awesome in my opinion, i love the extra travel. i just need to adjust the air in them to fix them topping out when they do. dwnhill man ask people with the sasquatch what they think off the drop of 4's, be your best bet.

the hayes nines would probably be the best part of the bike..they are soo farkin awesome, when i was playing with them in the shop they didnt seem too good but now that ive worn them in abit they have so much stopping power its crazy.

Canada NEVER ran the triples, that was an Aussie spec only, cause we knew you kids would love 'em. Canada are getting away from the whole triple crown thing for "free-ride" full stop, as their market want lighter more agile rides. You can X-up w/ SC's ;) Also, I'm not sure if the travel is different, as I was lead to believe they're exactly the same travel - I'll have to check that.

Not sure when they hit the shops - soon we hope. Bare in mind, this round of Maniks is a BONUS to Aus. So thank yourselves lucky you'll be able to get ya hands on one at all. I personally would go the SC version. I was pissed [---------------] this much when we spec'd the triples. Goes to show how different we all are ey?

btw, keep an eye out in Aussie mags for a new Manik ad coming soon...;)

You saying that the SC's might have the same amount of travel has just leveled out all the misfortunate things about the Manik. It would make up for the quick release axles, or the fact that I can't get tripples.
Nah thanks for that, please find out if they do have 170mm travel, as I am dying to know, now that I have read what you just wrote.
:D :D I"M EXCITED!!!:D :D
Cheers.
Jamsta, could you please pm me with the travel of the Manik when you find out what it is,Thanks mate.

you will find that the drop off 4's have 130mm travel based on the marzocchi website so im guessing that would be what they are. the drop of tripples (single crown) have 150mm on that site.

im pretty positive that the drop off tripples have 170mm while the drop off 4's have 130mm.

but wait for a response.

Nice choice the 06 manik, i got one about two weeks ago and im already strugeling to belive how i lived without it. The seat is so bloody comfy i cant belive it. Youve got to do somthing about the reflectors though.
once you get used to all the weight on the front its an awesome hartail

nice choice

im 6'2 i think, but light in weight. i bought a medium. id say its perfect.

as too gingerbreadman. ive removed the reflectors on the bar and seat post about an hour after posting the images. i havent got rid of the ones on the wheel yet but will tonight if i can be bothered.

im still waiting to adjust my forks as i dont have a shock pump and im too stingy to buy one and no friends have one.

its an amazing bike though, you will love it dwnhill when you get it regardless of the forks.

I've had my 06 manik for 2 months and I don't regret it one bit. The trips are so awesome on the hardtail. (downhll 4evr- Sorry to indirectly rub it in). I've taken it out so many times and it is so awesome. Only problem has been a bent seat. Enjoy it, they're wicked.

I got in early and got tripples and my mate has the single crown

im absolutly sure that the triples have 170mm and the single crowns have 150mm, personly im perfectly happy with my drop off tripples, so what if you cant do bar spins you get 20mm more and a 20mm axel.
but otherwies they are the exact same fork all the reboud stuff is the same.
even without triples it is still a manik and still rocks

I agree with you... but it also depends on what frames and what forks are put together, but I reckon the manik looks sick with triples - especially the 2005!

I'm probably taking that the wrong way, but if whoever your talking to doesn't have air in their forks then he/she is an idiot!... and the forks wouldnt feel too good either.

i know the person, he lives down my street and i go riding with him and he was going to put more air in his forks and i was wondering if he had.
