I'm sure I'm not the only person who is mega pissed off about the total lack of coverage of events in the Winter Olympics...

ESPECIALLY the events we have competitors in

Watching the mens' snowboarding now, which is great, but it is over 24 hours old... the Ladies session has just finished with Torah Bright qualifying in overall equal first position in the second qualifying run... but I only know that from live feed on the net:mad:

This is NOT good enough!!!!

Yeah but it is on free to air TV, i guess Channel 7's argument is "we're giving you free TV so there should be no problem" but yeah i do like to watch a bit of the old sport on TV and when i hear about the end result before i see it, i do get a bit shitty

That is true Oz-Freerider, but all the more that complain the better!!!

I know there are plenty of snowboarders on Farkin, I've seen their questions.

I'd just be happy to see it full stop!!!! They have not shown the Biathlon or the XC Pursuit, both had Aussies competing...

I'd happily get up at 2am to watch it live if I had to, but it's pretty piss poor when they just don't show it at all.... Torino is 10 hours behind us.

Womens Luge will be on later tonight (live) I bet they don't show that either...

If you care, send a complaint to Channel 7.

If you don't care, that is OK as well....

Yes but it doesn't matter how many complain if you're not complaining to the people who:
a) care
b) can do anything about it

After channel 7 bought the rights to the soccer a few years back and showed nothing more than a 30min highlights package at 2am, this doesn't surprise me at all that they have buggered up the Winter Olymipics.

I agree though, why show last nights highlights when an australian could be shown live???

The commentators make it almost unbearable anyway.

On the comlaining front, channel seven are crap anyway. Again going back to the soccer, about 5 years ago they bumped a socceroos game from live to 2.5 hour delay to show some movie that had been on a million times. I rang up to voice my disapproval. When I had finished one of the other guys tried to ring and seven had taken the phone of the hook. They don't listen, they stick their fingers in their ears. What would the viewer know anyway.

Not according to the Torino 2006 Athlete list...

Torino 2006 Live Feed results... auto update (http://www.torino2006.org/ENG/OlympicGames/gare_e_programma/realtime.html) that is the only place you can find the results live...

EDIT: Actually, it's probably not the only live source, but it's the best that I have got.

I don't think it has been on much here in the States, either. Well, to be honest, I haven't actually checked to see when it's on. However, all of the shows I usually watch all seem to be on. I'm not really into the Olympics, but I will be watching the 2008 summer games, when BMX becomes an Olympic sport...

ive got old analog foxtel.... and its boasting adds that on digital you can get... im pretty sure its 7 channels of winter olympics.
im not sure if channel 7 has a hand in it (they should if they have bought the rights to it)

anyway, its on foxtel digital an awful lot, so maybe thats where the markets being aimed at?
anyway, channel 7 has gone to the craps.

If you had a satellite dish you could watch it live on Eurosports....

I rarely watch TV, so I definitely don't have cable or Austar or that stuff....

I've just noticed a steady decline in the TV coverage, since the Nagano Olympics.

It's very frustrating when people you know are throwing everything they have got on the line, and you don't get to see it on TV at all, or if you do it is 2 days late and in the middle of the night.

channel 7 have always been pretty ordinary at covering sport, this is perhaps heavily biased by the fact that i cant stand ol' bruce.

as for your comment stpzero, it may be free to air TV but the stations are still businesses. its free to us because advertising pays for it, if nobody watches the station (in this case 7, which nobody does anyway) then nobody sees the advertising so nobody wants to give them lots of money. its in channel 7's interest to make people watch their channel so they are hardly going to say "too bad its free, what do you expect" etc. as far as a station's bottom line goes, programs are just there to fill in the gaps between advertisements.

That's the Commonwealth games that fox will have 7 channels for, not the winter olympics.

I was just upset that I had to watch an hour and a half of bloody figure skating before I got to see a guy crash his luge at 140k's..... :D

Although....... figure skating chicks are as tight as...... It's just that they skate with fags..... I wanna see pairs with two girl skaters....... All oiled up...... :) THAT'S entertainment

Yes its pathetic. Unfortunately, you can't expect much given that winter sports are not as important (probably because we're not doing as well) as summer sports. I'm just devastated there's no Ice Dream with Roy and H.G.

Oh, one more thing- we're speaking English, so it is Turin. If we spoken Italian it would be Torino. Either we call all European cities by their proper name (eg- Roma, Milano etc) or don't try. It just shows how tacky the media are (as in un-savvy, not grippy).
