yeah havin a mate who rides n takes sweet pics living across the road from you make its easy. They retail 2500 but can be picked up now for about 1600. Thanks for the help on the seat and lever. I thought it was a BB7 lever becuase i have a bb5 from a different set and it dosnt have the little red knob.

the rear hub is not very loud atm but im sure if i took some grease out it would become alot louder. Im not sure on exact weight i will have to check on that but i think it is about between 13-14kg.

Hi all - Superman, interesting you should post those links, I was down there looking at those bikes today (they have a couple).

I am looking at getting something along the lines of this, to get to work in the morning, to kick around on on the weekend, but mostly to stop taking the ends off my knees off on the gooseneck my old '99 mongoose sgx pro.

After having a look around, with out a lot of Trials background knowlage, i thought the 06 Norco Ryde looked like a better propasition - $200 cheaper, more solid looking frame. They did not have the two50, the other bike I wanted to see there. Im 6'2", but even the sml frame they had in stock felt great to ride. Really tight. I put $100 on it.

Now looking over the mtbr site and the ryde does get caned for cheap forks, weak headset, a few things...

I wondered what others with experience in the parts involved would say in regards to the ryde vs the '05 604 when the price diff is 220? Tell us what you really think ;)

Thanks sammy for your reply.. stoked i found this site b4 i bought, as it was one of the few non commercial sites that mentioned the bike i was looking at.
Darkside you labour not in vain ;)

Thought i screwed the derailleur when i rolled back in first gear just after getting the bike - the inside derailleur gear locks into the first gear cog, and if you have your weight behind it it will pull the derailleur against the cable and press it (the derailleur) into the chainstay, thus scratching your new bike and possibly leading you to think you fucked the derailleur till you worked out the cable has slipped at the rear bolt... rolling back causes the chain to jump gears, locking the inside cog in the derailleur from the chain angle - is this a typical geared bike screw up? doesnt that piss you off? Or is it something I can adjust, with the shimano i cant see how to stop it. Other than dropping in a spacer set for a single gear ;P

I should not gripe - moving up from a 20" i am actually loving the gears, and the room, since i use it to get around not just for play. I would like to stiffen up the forks though - the shermans - can i do this myself or should i entrust it to the store techys? A link would be fine..

Super forum guys, really enjoyed reading through it so far, thanks.

Its a Speed Dial 7 lever, no such thing as a *bb7 lever*. But yeh, nice ride, but QR on horizontals? I've tried it, doesn't work too great how is it going for you?

nice 604 but how do you have limited emo cranks? what makes them so much more emo than others?

Bar: Truvativ Hussefelt 31.8, (limited EMO version) I lent my bike to my mate last year during my exams and he went to a traf open day where they got a endo sticker when they had payed, Spaz(emo) decided to change it to say emo.

But yeh, nice ride, but QR on horizontals? I've tried it, doesn't work too great how is it going for you?
With my rear hub i got a 14mm bolt up axel and i could not uss that. I was just going to use it until my new bolt up came in but i found it to be fine so i didnt order the new axle.
Cheers Al
