John - as probably the only X5 owner in Vic, I can tell you that if I spot your Ventana, I can guarantee someone will get their ass kicked...
Whoever the frickin' stooge was the stole this is going to realise that it is IMPOSSIBLE to sell - there aint that many of us. I'm hurting for you - that was a gonzo build you had going there.
John, will keep an eye out for it up in Qld.

thanks everyone. i think cranks insurance will sort it out. it would still be good to find the bastards.
this is the second time i have had a bike stolen. the first time was a pretty rare bike too. never heard of it again.
what happens to these bikes? does someone down the pub buy them with the intention of riding them and they get shoved into the back of shed? or do they just get destroyed when the thief realises they are impossible to get rid of? either way it is a pain in the arse that it happens and such a waste of a quality bike

If it's a bike enthusiast, I'm sure the bike will get parted out. If it's just a random dickhead burglar looking for cash, it'll meet a worse fate.
In case it stays in tact and I see it, I'll be making very sure it gets back to you. Fingers crossed.

Just bumping it back up there in case it has come back into circulation. The thief might think it's safe to bring the bike or the parts out now a year down the track.
To date none of this gear has shown up anywhere.
As before, if you see anything or suspect anything around the usual haunts please PM me.
