Hey, am looking for some information here, hope somebody can help quick.

I recently bought a rear wheel... The hub was a hope bulb, and i was told that it was 150mm spacing, however its a QR axle. My first question is, does anybody know if hope bulb QR hubs even came in 150mm spacing? I know the 135 mm hubs have interchangeable axles but do the 150mm ones? or are they standard 12mm?

I didnt actually think twice about testing the hub on my bike myself to measure it once i got it (was looking for a 135mm hub), i just trusted that it would be 150mm and wouldnt work for me. So i sold it and posted it away. The thing is the guy i sent the wheel away to is now telling me that its 135mm spacing, however he is only judging this size on the difference in the size of the axle compared to his IRONHORSE SGS.

Which is my second question, what is the sizing of the rear spacing on a ironhorse SGS??? For all i know the hub might really be a 150mm hub because the SGS may have something like 160, 165 or 170mm spacing, i really wouldnt know, i dont own one!

Any help asap would be much appreciated. A photo of the guys SGS is below so you can tell which year model it is if that matters. Also a photo of the Hope bulb hub if thats any help....???

Dude,
The Hope hub you had ( in pic) was a Bulb model, and I believe you could only get these little guy`s in 135 and 150. I don`t think they ever made a 150mm with a QR??????(WHAT THE????) so me tinks that you had yourself there a 135mm RED "PLASH WUN AY!"
NOW.............. as for the SGS they run a 165mm by 12mm thru axle, and I don`t think you`ll find a Hope hub anywhere to suit.
BTW sweet paint job on the PONY.

if its QR its gonna be 135mm spacing, no one makes a QR hub in 150mm spacing, because there are no frames that are 150mm spaced with QR dropouts.

see my logic?

Indeed i do, now that i try and think about frames which have 150mm QR dropouts... theres none i know of. Just wondering if the guy thinks its too small because his frame is 165mm and the hub is 150mm. ???

Thanks, will get it sent back and it better bloody be 135mm spacing afterall.

As for the stickers mate, i would have no idea, its just the frame of the guy who bought the wheel from me off ebay.

So can somebody certify that all SGS frames are 165mm spacing? And that hope never made a 150mm QR bulb?

Hope never made a 150mm QR Bulb. That there's definitely a 135mm hub.

Thanks for your help, got it sent back, and its a 135mm like you said, the guy who measured it would have measured it from the end of the part where the axle goes through to the other end, and this part actually sits in the frame.

Oh well, all sorted now, and looking nice on the bike too!
