STP for two reasons
Search Then Post: Good to see you read the sticky, but there are more threads out there if you search

Street Trail Park: Cheap, great for street/DJ, light, and handle light(ish) DH FR well aswell

definitely a goer

I own an 06 STP1 and am very pleased with it RRP$1450, but if you can stretch to RRP$1850, definitely go the STPzero

These days you can usually get an STP0 for 1500. Probably best new bike for the money

i have 2 more questions it appears the stp 0 and the specialized p3 are fairly similar and i love the ride of my friends p2 05 model and even though its fairly light it could be lighter which of these to bikes are lighter and or better and another thing is how much for and how good is a identiti dr jekyl compared to these to bikes

i ride an stp0... awesom bike.. awesom at street, park and dj's. adjust the fork to 140mm and she goes alright dh. upgrade a few things and its pretty much perfect.

have u considered a norco
they come fairly cheap now
i have a 2006 norco sasquatch which i got for 998
i preffer this over the stp1 which i also have. the norco feels a lot better to ride the bb seems to be sitting lower. the sasquatch also it quite a bit lighter than the stp. another + is that i comes with a better spec eg forks brakes etc
well thats my 2cents worth

if you want a light bike thats good for every thing from 4X to DH and DJing get a jamis komodo i have one its got good spec and the 06 one is $1800rrp, though its more of a ht freeride bike then a street bike.

if youlike the look of the stp or p2-3 better then deffenently get the p3 its about as light as the jamis but is better for street (shorter).

how much $$$$ you can spend would be another deciding factor, the specialized is quite expencive ($3200 i think)

If its $2000 your going to spend look at a Cove Sanchez, cro-mo, superb quality bike, light by cromo standards, can run SS no probs, the frame is $800 and all you need is forks, a rear brake and SS if its street your after.

If its purely used for street you will only need a rear brake and SS and short forks, use it on a DH trail and you will get smoother quickly, great practice.

What about DMR. They make bikes specific to what you want, and there relativly cheap. I ride an STP and it is the bomb. It does everything from DJ to DH. And its got a relativly short chain stay. Down to the fact that Geoff Lenosky designed it and he is a great trails rider

DMR's are OK, but I have seen them break! For 2K you can build up any decent frame
