Extremely nice bike to both ride and gaze at. Craftsmenship is the best I have seen on a frame. Finish is Raw beadblasted Ti and so so sweet. This bike will spend most of its life as a Singlespeed with the Reba as the Blacksheep which arrives in a fortnight will be a Rigid Only with a custom Webtrussed Ti Fork.

THAT... is truly stunning.

I'm very fond of my Moots seatpost. To have an entire rig built to the same standard, let alone one with that sort of spec you are very very lucky. (and have a fairly large loan or a very empty wallet).

Enjoy. That is one beautiful ride.

Did I mention I like it?:)

Beautiful stuff Shannon, but you've gotta stop doing it. I don't have enough money to keep buying the cool stuff you show us. Can't wait for my I9 wheels.

Thats truly beautiful. Even more keen on having a 29er now.. be great to see a side on pic so we can see the geometry a bit betterer.

very nice! welds look fantastic the rear dropout is the same as the gunner s/s i was looking at buying and probably the best setup for a s/s. my salsa s/s comes in at around 10.4 with everything on it so id expect maybe 9.5kgmaybe less. very sweet ride. and you know what they say about Ti once you ride it theres no going back

Sweet and truly original ride. I'd love some feedback on those Jones bars you're running.

Would anyone object if I moved this to "Post Your Ride"? I really think something this awesome deserves greater exposure.

I didn't really know how they would go when I first ordered a set but took the plunge. On a Single speed I will never have another set of bars grace my bikes again. These things are simply the most comfortable, versatile and the best climbing aid I have ever ridden. Initially I had settled on Flat bars (Salsa Carbons with Cane Creek Bar Ends) and was very happy. Strapped these things on and once they were set up they simply felt as though I had been on them for years. A few things though:

1. Set up. If they are not setup correctly they do not feel the best take your time and play with the angel. Jeff Jones has good instructions on his site www.jonesbike.com and they make sense. They should be angled down rearwards about 23 deg from horizontal. For most bikes with a 5 or 6deg rise stem when you factor in head angel it is nearly parallel with the stem angle. Still need to fiddle a bit to get your individual sweet spot but you will find it. The only people who have ever complained are guys who persist in having the horizontal. You loose som leverage and increase hand pressure.

2. Width, they are wide and even coming of a 620mm fatty I still knoked my knukles a few times.

3. Brake setup - totally different setup up as far as angle and contact point goes for me anyway. But in the end one finger braking with the contact point being closer to the bars than I would normally run.

4. Hand positions there are a few but I generally use 3, Full rearards on the grips for climing out of the saddle, single track and decending. It places your weight further rearwarsd increasing rear tyre traction and climing grip as well as giving incredible leverage when required. Hands closr inbut still on the grips for singletrack tight and twisty. and hands forward cupping the brake lever bodies for seated climbing. So comforatble and gives great leverage as well.

5. Stem length - Need a good front clamp stem and you weight is constantly trying to lever the bars down at the rear. As they sweep bak so much your hands are further rearwards than normal. An additional 20mm of stem may be required by some to keep a good TT length in the rear position.

I have let 7 people try these bars and all have either placed an order with me or are in the process of doing so. The bars are not cheap $255 US shipped with Cork grips and wrapping for the curved bar version. They also have a straight extension version and after trying a mates set of these I certainly belive the curved have a lot more flexibility.

Let me know if you need to know more.
