Looking at purchasing a squishy frame to give my tired bones a rest (currently on a Yeti ARC).
Test ride on an ASRsl was stunning. Enough squish to be comfy but still very efficient and you could get out of the saddle and crank hard without feeling like you were shedding great gobs of power. Rush felt quicker in a straight line but sketchier in the turns, 575 felt too tall in the saddle and is probably more squish than I really need.
Any of you Farkiners out there had a fang at Trance as a comparison steed to a Rush or ASRsl?
(Sadly comes down to an issue of price and limited funds)

I own a trance 2, specced up more like a Trance 1 1/3. and doing back to back rides on a mates yeti asr( not sl) i reckon my bike handles better and has less bob in it when seated climbing. price on the giant is pretty unbeatable for the spec you get on them stock.

You are welcome to borrow the family Trance whenever you want.... but it's at home.
If we head up your way I will let you know ;)
Tiz only a small, but surprisingly I manage it OK :)

the 5th element on the yeti is no where near as good as the ones that have the RP3 imho.
did the rush have crossmarks on it or larsens? i put a larsen on mine and it made a huge difference. the crossmark is just a little ( a lot) too skatey for my liking and doesnt invoke confidence in a corner.
the trance seems like a good bike , if i hadnt have gotten the deal of a lifetime on the rush i probably would have gone for a Trek fuel EX or a trance.

I had a ride a of my mates trance and thought it was ok. I don't think it was as good as my fuel ex but was pretty good.
I also rode a demo rush at last years mont and was impressed with it.
It will be my next bike
I have ridden the yeti but cant afford to buy one.

My previous ride was a Top Fuel 98 - do a search for details. The Trance 1 is MUCH better.

Won't be doing anything till I get a test ride on a Trance. That said, if the ride is up to the standard of the reviews and the hype then mr bank balance says there will be a 1 year wait on the ASRsl.
I seriously want that Yeti but the dollars aren't there and the Mont is fast approaching.
Re the Rush, I found it hell fast in a straight line but it felt substantially sketchier to me on the corners in comparison to the ASRsl. Faster overall but further outside my comfort zone. I might be slower but I think I'd enjoy my riding more on the Yeti. And at the end of the day, lap times be damned, I'm here to have fun.

FWIW, ride with mates who have a Trance and a Rush 2000. My experience:
Trance
- better on technical ascents, that maestro rear traction is just brilliant
- handles flowing single track better especially sudden directional changes
Rush
- quicker in a straight line particularly on hardpack
I still can't come to terms with the lefty, going downhill I unintentionally shift my weight left, but I'm sure with time it would be fine.
Drew, come into hammer n cycle in queenbeyan and take the demo Trance 1 we have out there for a spin at sparrow and the 575 with full anthem 1 build for a spin, someone could also hook you up with a asr-sl aswell to test ride.
We have an older model asr-sl at braddon without the carbon stays which we could do a pretty good deal on and see if we could get a good build kit for you too. ring on 6299 6666 and we can sort ya out.

Umm, I'm actually booked to do just that, this very afternoon... (Tues 6th)
What's the chances huh?
I think the SL that I tried and liked was w/o carbon stays anyhow.
Will discuss tonight...
