Im wanting to get new forks I need some advice and cant decide between Boxxers and 888s. Its between:

06 Rock Shox Boxxer Races and
05/06 Marzocchi 888s (no exact model just whatever i find)

I have around the $700 mark to spend so probably looking at second hand. pretty much just do Downhilling. these forks are for a 05 Ironhorse Yakuza Kumicho.

which fork would be the simplest to maintain, set-up, use and have the least problems with?

Do a search. This exact topic has been covered several times in the past.

Marzocchi.

would you be able to justify that?

I had the same problem. I had owned a set of Marzocchi forks before, and they were as trouble free as anyone could hope for, so I bought the 06 888rc2x and love them.

If you want reliability, dont go past Marzocchi.

(I dont want to start a debate, this is my opinion based on my past experience.)

888rc2x will be the go

easy to maintain and works great

though it can depend on what kind of DH'r you are....if you like riding hard...definately 888's :P

Yes, seeing as I said Marzocchi for minimum maintenance etc.

Boxxers feel good but ya need to service them a fair wad more than 888s. With Marzocchi ya just set them up how ya want, and change the oil say every 6 months. Very consistent suspension.

888 for sure. bit heavier but lots of bennifits. You won't find an 06 RC2 for that cheap for at least another year but.

But the 06 boxxers have a completely new set of internals... Id be surprised if they retained their stigma for high maintenence. Time will tell i guess...
