Topper (Melbourne RRR personality- for intestaters, RRR is one of 2 very good community radio stations in Melbourne, the other being PBS):

German Gully Ride
Sunday July 2nd
Castlemaine
10.30am for a 11.00am Pedal off
Directions
Coming from Melbourne turn left into Wheeler Street at the
roundabout on the intersection of Wheeler, Hargraves and Forest
streets, (There is a sculpture of a water wheel in the middle of the
roundabout). After the turn into Wheeler St, the oval and the
carpark is just there on the right.
Approx. travel time allow 2 hours.
Bring water and a spare tube, food and any other stuffs you require.
Description
Medium, technical conditions with some trees across track and narrow
track (water race) in parts. Some steep pinch climbs and some fast
down sweeping sections. The conditions are quite dry and loose
(believe it or not).
Allowing for a lunch. Ride about approx. 3-4 hrs.
Malmsbury Bakery
Meet at the Malmsbury Barkery for coffee at 9.30am (you drive through
Malmsbury)
