No.
You'll have to buy 1.5" to 1 1/8" reducer cups (aka 'spacer thingo') to run anything else.
FSA also make a 1.5" to 1 1/8" reducer headset, with the added benefit of larger bearings, lower stack height, etc.

I'm pretty sure grip does a steerer tube replacing service, you could be able to change the standard to a 1.5. Not sure about the force put on it....

i rackon it would still be next to impossible to fit a 1.5 steerer tube into a 1 1/8 crown.

Ahh... as daddyrat said, you won't be able to fit a 1.5 steerer into a 1.125 crown.
For 07, Rockshox has three new forks (the Lyrik, the Domain and the Totem - see http://www.pinkbike.com/news/SRAM-2007-Freeride-product-preview-RockShox.html) which will be available with 1.5 steerers. Marzocchi are also producing some OEM-only forks (66s? Can't remember) with 1.5 steerers for 07, but these won't be available aftermarket.
