I started a thread on building a BMX ($$$) or buying one in the sub $1000 range - check the dirtjumping and 4X section - there were some excellent and very helpful responses from some knowledgeable users in there.

Look at the Eastern Ace of Spades Pro. I know the are around $1200 ish normally, but its that time of year when some things start to get cheap. Find ur closest eastern dealer... worth a look...

you could get a norco rev, they are pritty good them you have money left over you could spend on it:D
No doubt an Intergrel Bel Air (primo) is the best stock bike you can buy for abouts $900. ypu'd have to order one in, or buy it off an ebay shop in USA or www.danscomp.com. but im sure you can order in from australia. BEST stock bike, with parts that you'd buy for an aftermarket part.
wheelset is as good as an Odyssey Hazard cassette set. Primo parts, except forks.
4130 chromoly frame, Integral chromoly fork with 1-pc steerer tube, Integral logo grips, Primo Low Pitch 9-butted 2-pc chromoly bars, Primo Solution 1-1/8" integrated headset, Primo Balance 36H rims with black front and chrome rear, Primo Pro hubswith 11T driver and 14mm axles, Primo Double Down Spanish B/B, Primo Hollowbite 3-pc 175mm aluminum cranks, Primo Balance pedals, Integral 30T chainwheel, Primo E-brake mounted on seatstays, Primo brake lever, Primo Balance
seat with 9mm rails, Primo Dirt Monster front tire and Primo V-Monster rear, 2 Integral pegs. 20.5" Toptube. (32 lbs)
found out its $780AUS dollars.

theres a fit flow street version if you like to ride brakeless  otherwise there is the normal flow which has brakes ...i also know cycology bmx at gladesville build volumes up for cheap with mostly demolition parts, redline cranks and tuffneck hubs for around the $800 mark which is awsome value. But definately have a look around to find the best value

Any of the specialized fuse's are ok for starting out on bmx...They dont have typical bmx geo in my eyes. But i think the fuse 4 which has really good specs starts at 1100 but im sure u could work your way around that...caasshh

ive allready checked them out but most bmx'ers i know say that specialized put too much emphasis on making " hardcore mtb's " and not enough into their bmx's, so from what ive heard its not worth it and im using this bike mostly fro street and the fuse range was built for dirt..thanks though
poobroom..:o
