i have this stem my mate gave me but it is to big, i was wondering if you could get like a handle bar spacer that fits onto the bars and you put that into the stem? or would it just be better if i bought some bars that would fit them stem??

There are two types of handle bars and stems with different clamp sizes
There are Oversize "OS" which are 31.8mm clamp diameter
and there are Standard which are 25.4mm clamp diameter
You carnt buy spacers or as such to make it fit. you will need new handle bars or a new stem
Cheers Al
your either confused or dumb but yes you can get shims to make standard size bars to fit into a OS stem

See atom lab, this is how the world works... after reading other posts of yours (and calling you a fool after one of them in particular) you are now on my shit list and I'm looking at EVERYTHING you post and just waiting for you to step over the line.
And by the way, the word is THROAT... and yes he did deserve shit down it, because there are waaaaaaay too many people around here ready to jump in with answers to questions they have no idea about. There's an old saying that goes... It is better to keep quiet and have people think you're an idot than it is to speak up and confirm it.

Well, i used some Marzocchi ones for my intergrated stem, never experienced slippage, although i still didnt feel comfortable with them for some reason. I think that they retail a ridiculous amount, around $130?? Please correct me if im wronge....
I would recommend upgrading your stem to a o/s 31.8

that's what i'm running, and want to fit 25.4 bars in it, cos the bars i'm after only come in standard clamp, and the strength of OS 31.8 is un-noticeable compared to standard
