This is one of my favourite times of year. Summer is my favourite, but the fact that this is the middle of winter makes me happy. It is as bad as it gets and really it is not so bad. Clear skies, clean air low humidity. The shortest day of the year has been. Things can only get better.

And damn isn't it a good time to get out on two wheels. If the voice of Phil Ligget calling the tour is not enough to get you out on your bike then nothing is. A track in your head of Phil calling your commute to work is better than David Attenborough calling your trip to the zoo.

Everything is good. The roadies are more social, cars give you more room, and there are more riders out on the road. I don't want to take the piss either it is great too see more riders out there. It is not about how you ride or what you ride it is just about riding.

The best cyclists in the world are going tyre to tyre in France and it is the time to get out on a bike here with the season approaching. So take advantage of it, live it, and lay down some K's.

We are over the hump ladies and gentlemen.

I'm not quite there yet, so I took 2 weeks off work just to cope
Ahh, Le Tour live, sleep in 'til 9-10-11, tinker with bikes then go for a ride, come back, postwhore a bit and then repeat the cycle. Who knows, I might just not want to go back to work ;)

Hear hear. I've already calculated when I can start riding to work again. Just a couple more weeks and I'll have enough light to get home again. Got my new bike itching for some good trails. I can't wait.
