Adrian ..

What can I say ..

Mate you have now joined the collar bone club .

Does your arm feel like it's going to fall off as yet ??
I know mine did ..

And your lucky you can have the ol panadine forte - I have
an alergy to codine so all I had was the good ol Digeesic and
they made me hell sick in the guttly so I just went the panadol
for a placeebo (SP) effect ..

Good to hear at least you sound in good spirit ..

Will we be seeing you down Canberra for multipul beers or staying
in for this one - wouldnt blame you bud ..

Good thing the Boys were there to clean you off the hill ..

Hope to see you soon up and running ..

Catch ya bro

it was on the small line at the second set. not much of a jump at all.

yeah g-man, feels like she's just hanging there. the worst is the muscle cramps in my shoulder from not being able to move them. i should still be going to canberra still, and this trip, no riding and no driving, so i ought to get some footage and cheer yaz on.

Its been 12 months since I broke mine and I can sympathize with you about the muscle craps my sugestion is get ya self some mersyndol (can get it over the counter in WA) it has a muscle relaxant in it beware it will put you to sleep as well. My cramps were that bad the doctor gave me Mersyndol Forte (script only) even then it took 24 hours for them to take any sort of effect but after that every thing was sweet.

Good luck with the healing and hope you are back on the bike soon.

I know exactly how you feel !!! I was out of town on a racing weekend, less than 50 seconds on the track, and broke it. Spent 6 hours in hospital waiting to be looked at, and finally they helped me when i had passed out on the floor. Took 4 months to recover, but I tested it at the nationals at Thredbo. It still plays up but at least I am riding,,,,,48 years old and still havent grown up.

Haven't got a copy of the xrays yet. i have to get back to ther hospital and put in a request, but i saw them and it looked pretty gnarly.... I spent 6 hours on a bed in nepean after they did the xrays. the first time i saw the doctor he gave me a sling and told me to go home and rest it til it doesn't hurt (no lifting for at least 6 weeks). said that surgery wasn't required because of the way the bones were all touching ( if slightly overlapped). He also said that the overlapping would mean it would heal slightly mishapen, and i'd have a lump there forever, but it should be stronger than if it were realigned and pinned. i was expecting surgery too when i got my first look at the damage, but three days on and the shoulder has lifted itself back to level with my left, and it has widened back to it's original width. the muscles are holding it all in place ( with the sling to support/hold it still), and the aching is fading very quickly. unless something goes horribly wrong from here, i'll trust him.

Ha, same story with me..

Yeah, my doc said i mightnt need surgery but that we'll see in 2 weeks... i came back and the bones were alot more overlapped than before (dont have a picture of that xray). i had the choice of leaving it to mend as it was which would mean a weaker bone in the long term, or getting surgery. The surgery had heaps faster healing time and left me with just a little bone lump due to calcifying and 2 little scars... im really happy i went with the surgery now

HAHAH HAPPEN to me as well said the doc was in theater....

but... that collar bone dont look too bad to what happened to me
(unfortunatly no photos but ill try later) I snapped my right clavicle in 3 peices so in terms i have 1 bone that was attatched to nothing just floating. So when i shifted my body i could feel the bone clunk into the next bone that got in its way.. nope wouldnt walk properly for.... say 4 weeks because of that.

yup you heard right COULDNT WALK!!! because of a collar bone..

also the ... floating bone was snapped and rested in a verticle position so it almost peiced the skin.. i had a really pointy spike on my shulder for a while until sugury chissled it off .... But no pins for me they said im young and calcium will build up into a regular bone :)

Man, that's real bad luck mate.

I recently seperated my clavical from my shoulder, tore the ligaments, cracked the clavical and raised it up by about 3cm. They told me today that i am going to have a bump (caused by the clavical sticking up) for ever and that I can't work for another 4 weeks which means no pay. I thought this was bad, until I read some of these other stories.

I hope it doesn't take too long to heal, and don't be too quick to sell your bike. Things may work out for you.:)

Cheers.
