did a very brief and quick search and found nothing so if theres already a forum about this post it up n ill get this one closed

Just rented out Lord of War the other day, and in one word, it is brilliant.

Other movies that i have seen lately:

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - hillariously clever IMO, the naration throughout the movie was cleverly used

Hostel - sick...also a very clever movie, but shite ending

The Exorcist - alright for a movie from the 80's or something....pretty disturbing at times, and pretty much just plain stupid at times aswell

Soldier Dogs - one word....warewolves (sp??) starts pretty good, but gets stupid by the end....some parts made me jump, others i was just pissing myself laughing

am about to watch Green Street Hooligans, which should be a very good watch.

Post up movies that you guys have seen, be interesting to see all your guys' opinions on different films.

Good filum. Liked the ending.

Cage's character is supposed to be based on Viktor Bout (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Bout) and the African dictator is based on Charles Taylor (who is now in the hands of the ICC on war crimes charges).

Loosely based. Bout was born in the Soviet Union. The movie shows him born in the U.S doesnt it ?

Wasn't a bad watch, wouldn't be rushing out to see it again though.

It certainly shows him growing up in a US city, as his parents are poor and own a restraunt. His brother gets shot cause of some dodgy deal.. And he marries a model because he books out a whole motel etc and lives a glamourous life. All not true but you can see how the storly line is loosely based on Bout.

Of course it's only loosely based - it's not like Vicktor Bout has written an autobiography or anything. I very much doubt the ending is true for example. If I remember rightly in the movie Cage's character and his family immigrated to the US from Ukraine when he was young.

Loved it, will see again:) I'm not that big on movies (especially the cliche'd Hollywood type) but i think that it was something quite different, made me realise that not everything which comes out of hollywood is completely shit. I especially loved the narration by Nicholas Cage, i think it made the movie.

the naration was cleverly used in this film, same as the naration used in the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (another great movie IMO)

i especially liked the ending, and the beginning with the making of a bullet etc, etc...

It really does aye, it puts you into the movie if you get what i mean.

It's not the type of movie that you can turn off, and continue watching the next day, you have to watch the whole thing in one go.

The intro was excellent. One of the best starts to a film I've seen. The film is great. It's very biting, and almost unreal in places but still seems solidly grounded in reality.

I honestly thought that by the end of the movie I liked Cage's character too much; not that I liked him that much at all, but I did want to see him get away with it.
I'm not sure why his character appealed to me, maybe it's his typically dry humour, but whatever it was it robbed the moral of a little of its impact for my mind.

Aside from that I thought the narrative was perhpas over done at times, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang featured a better used narrative. But all in all not a bad flick.
