How long does it take for the guys at Farkin to grant Trading Group access? I applied (a very pleasant, well structured paragraph) a few days ago and haven't heard a thing. It may be that I'm missing some part of the process though. When I go to 'Group Memberships' for my account, it states that I have none. I'm trying to sell a 2004 Kona Roast at the moment and would really apprciate the opportunity to do it on Farkin.net.

Any help much appreciated!

Scott

Do a search, you'll find it(trading access). It takes a while and you have to take part in forum discussions so the Mods can assess if you're a worthy member for Farkin.

it really depends on how many people are applying at once (Farkin has a crapload of members, and more and more join every day), and how much the mods have got on their plate - Farkin.net isnt their life (except maybe scott  ) - they do actually have jobs/careers/lives outside of the internet...... just chill, you'll get it

Yeah mate be paitent, everyone who has applied for trading access has had to wait as well. It took the mods about 2 and a half to 3 weeks till i actually got it granted to me.;)

Letich pretty much nailed it. I just did 43 applications (as I sit here waiting for the girl to finish cooking dinner :p), and to be honest it's not really a lot of fun.

While I'm here though it's probably worth mentioning that out of the bunch I just sorted through, about half of them were denied, mainly because the submission consisted of
"so i can buy bike bits"
or similar. Come on people, we know that if you're applying for trading access you obviously want to buy or sell something, that isn't really what the application is for.

We want you to demonstrate that you can type a coherent passage, and that you have a decent grasp of the language we want to see used.
Even more so, we want to know that you will actually take the time to write a decent submission; if you can't be bothered writing more than a dozen words as a submission, then why should we think that you could be bothered putting any effort into your actual posts in the trading forum?

At least that's what I look for in trading access applications. So there's a free tip, put in some thought and write a decent paragraph and you're a good chance of getting in.

Many thanks to all those above for your feedback. I wasn't being impatient, it was more that I thought I'd missed something in the application. I now understand the process.

Cheers

Staunch, there is currently no application in from you so you need to simply reapply as normal.
