after a few 'issues' with my editing software, i i've finally got it done.

phew!

so, here is (hopefully) the last video i'll make using Sony Vegas 6.0c. - and the first with my new camera, a Canon XL1. great peice of equipment that is, I love it!

oh yes, the race was awesome. huge props to anyone who helped out or contributed, it was one of the best races i've ever been to, great atmosphere, great racing, great sausages and steak sandwitches - shame about the slightly chilly weather and my body's decision to catch an almost weekend-ending cold.

yeah, i will concur, I set the camera to auto-pilot and watched nervously as Cam walked around with the camera...he interviewed a few people and what not near dark, and got the shot of Bill from DH direct that i used mid-way throgh the vid. as the bell went off in the song. that was such a good shot actually!

so, full credit to Cam-the-man for that one!

Good job Sam. Let me know the next time you are coming down to Thredbo and I'll give you some pointers on using the XL1. I've had one since 99 and there are a few little quirks involved with them.

Another great vid Sam , this one had a real laid back vibe to it due to the choice of music I reckon.(good thing:) ) Looked like a good weekend. I wish I had made the effort to come up and race now.

That's a killer vid mate, my brother took his boys to see the race and said it was a great day out. Looking forward to riding that track next time I visit Canberra... is it open to the public?

well, yeah, but i seriously doubt it will be fo5rmally used again.

the track is built fairly poorly, so it takes a lot of effort from volunteers to get it up to shape for a race. it has woeful water drainage. the track should be in pretty good nic. for a few weeks to come though (deopending on weather).

I think that nobody will ever want to fix it up again once the new Worlds course is built (to be complete December this year).
