yo toby.........how are ya mate?

remember how to get to nerrina from melbs? anyway go the way you would to nerrina and instead of turning right towards little bendigo primary school (the road where you cross the highway), keep going straight up the hill. the road is a bit steep and curves up to the left. when you get to the top there is a roundabout, just before that is a sharp right with houses on ya left and a park on the other side. drive up here and park at the lookout. all sealed roads.

you now be at blackhill. unpack your shite and get kitted up, ok check from the lookout immeadiately in front of you is a big gorge type thingy (trust me its obvious). ok you need to be over the other side for the tracks, so go to your right and youll see a track going down a series of 3 "steps", its rutted and a tad overgrown but fun to ride, get to the bottom and go up the fire road on ya left. go to the top of the fireroad and youll see single track on ya right with a tiny kicker into it, follow this trail till ya cross another fireroad and follow the track right over a step down, follow that and ya got track no.1. the second one follows the same track but peels off to the left afte a small table top (the second jump through the "pines" section which has a couple of berms and small jumps).

okay so there ya have it how to get there and the 2 tracks. walk out is easy, just follow the fireroad back up the hill!

cheers

isaac

Any traces of the old skool Black Hill DH track left apart from the pines section with the tabletop?
As in the track that has the short uphill, and the bombholes at the start just next to the lookout carpark - later had a big stepdown put in - we raced it from '97-2000ish?
Just out of morbid interest...

yep remnants of it are still there, the track from the carpark is quite overgrown but still rideable.........im hoping to fix it up at some stage and make it wider to allow more line choice. also the rest of the track up the hill and through the pines to the bottom still exists.

come and check it out someday, lots of cool challenging tracks have been going in recently that are sweet fun to ride.

There will be some big motha HUCKERS on display for sure. Aussie lachie, and me are making a backflip jump there which will be hopefully ready by the race for a few jumps. We will also have a sesh of the 15-20ft drop near the start area of the race. Aussie has suicide no handers off it now! Concrete drops are gone i think and the road gap is gone, but can easlily be built up for the weekend. The only thing is it will be torn down after the weekend by the council :(

Shall be an awesome weekend of riding at the old faithful black hill!

Patto you make it sound really exciting... I don't want to miss this race OR the displays.

Maybe someone should put the word out there that there will be more than just racing on this day.

Can't wait.

Directions and Map are now on the Club MUD site. There was a delay due to confirmation of the parking. Please make sure you park in the right areas and dont be mindful of the locals. We need to make sure we make a good impression so we can continue to use the hill..

Practice saturday is unofficial, so there fore there is no transport. On sunday there is no transport either as the tracks are short and easy as hell to walk up, your lazy if you need transport! Plus it keeps the entry fee right down.

Not a bad walk up, but my lazy fat ass likes the transport tho. Looking forward to this race should be fun.

MYself and other have been wondering what time set up is

clubmud

Setup will be from 9.00am on Saturday, with a few bods there it should not take to long. We are planning to start unoffical practise at 11ish.

The tracks are about 60 seconds long (no official times yet), but dont forget you get 3 race runs...

After this Round 3 will be back at Nerrira and then Round 4 will be at Black Hill again.

We will probally do a redesign of the tracks an maybe use one of the real big for Round 4

We have had huge support from all of the local media (WIN News spot, Back page of local paper and even all overthe radio), so we are hoping for a big crowd.

please make sure you check out the map and follow the parking directions..

See yo all on the weekend...
