Hi team - anyone got much experience with michelin DH tyres - 16 , 24 , or in particular the 32 2.8inch . For a heavyweight recreational DH'er , various terrains but especially damp/slippery medium-hard pack [ not sloppy mud ] , and in particular as a rear. Main consideration being grip & a rear wheel that doesn't want to be the front wheel as soon as you touch the brake . Rolling speed/cost not important. Have tried various Maxxis tyres , but not a minion DHF as rear ; could anyone running this setup also please comment for the above conditions . Any advice appreciated . Cheers Sean

try maxxis " wet' scream " tyres
p.s. don't know if they make them anymore but apparently they are the best non-spike wet use tyres ever!!!

Comp 16 2.5, run it reverse. You will love it. The 2.8 is better when its dry(front, rear just a bit too big and heavy). The 24 i won't run because its too small and lousy for mud

Hi Buzz -I see Mich website calls the 16 a 'rocky terrain' tire - does reversing it give it some extra bite on the greasy stuff ? Have you tried the 32's ? Seem to have been a fad for them a few years ago mainly overseas but I've never seen any on a bike in Aus

i have the comp 32 2.8 on the front. a big heavy brute of a tyre :) it goes alright on damp ground but turns into a 3inch mud slick in the wet. i'll probably swap it out for a minion when it wears out.
