View Full Version : Shimano or sram?

Hey guys ive got a shimano 105 roadie derralier on a 105 cluster and sram chain and i was thinking about buy a 2nd hand x0 or x9 and i was just wondering what people who had either of these or both how they compair. Should i just keep the 105 till it brakes or get the x0 and ride that till i need the 105 what do people think what should i do

your going to need to get a different shifter for the x9 or x0 so your probably best off keeping what youve got till it dies then change to sram, but if your happy with your 105 and it dies keep going with them.

x.o short carbon cage, x.o shifter, shimano cassette, shimano chain, you cant go wrong....

Stay with the 105. If you have it set up well then you wont get better shifting from sram.

Ive been thinking about putting on a sram x0 derailer on. I have deore shifters, so will this be a problem? If so I will just get an XTR derailer.

Yeh it will be a problem.... get an xtr unless you are willing to buy a sram shifter. They use a different action ratio. every 1mm the cable moves so does the derailuer aka a 1.1 ratio while shimano is using a 2.1 ratio....
