A good friend of mine has had her only form of transport stolen, this bike has taken her all over Melbourne (and Australia and Canada) for the last 6 years.
Bike: Trek Aluminium Series 1000 (Road bike)
Colour: Yellow, the paint is extremely scuffed and scratched all over
Date it was stolen: July 27th 2006, between 3 and 4pm
Where it was stolen: Bentleigh Secondary College (Vivian St, East Bentleigh), from the breeze-way of B-block
Specs:
Wheels - front Vueita Airline (blue ano) rim, rear Alexrims R450 (silver) rim, quick release axles (silver skewers), silver spokes and hubs.
Shimano Sora Flightdeck groupset, the rear brake is a Diacompe BRS blaze caliper
Cranks - triple ring 32-42-52T, Shim Sora
F & R derailleurs - Shim Sora
Just replaced the drive train with a Shimano 8 speed cassette, Shimano 42T middle chainring and KMC 8 speed chain, and a new tyre on the front wheel
Pedals - VP clipless
Zoom threaded headstem (canīt remember if itīs 1Ļ or 1 1/8Ļ heaset either)
Other Discriptions: Aside from it being an obviously much loved and used bike... there are 2 water bottle cages, a high pressure pump (attached to bottle mounts on seat tube), generic LED front and rear lights, a broken computer mount that is hanging by a bit of broken wire, very torn blue handle bar tape (silver bars) and if you tip the bike over you can hear a piece of metal rattle in the frame (like a ball bearing only I think it is a peice of the loose bottle mount from the down tube)

(BTW, I donīt expect people to be tipping a bike over to listen for a rattle if they suspect it is this one!)
