I don't know about dead people but can they still move their thumb? Check it out at the 54sec mark.

He was armoured up a bit thankfully and the helmet probably saved his ass from the looks of things in the vid. More than likely that was a severe concussion he had.

This clip carries an important message at the start:

And I hate to say it but this poor guy ate it even harder and with less protective gear. I hope hes better now, but serious injuries can stay with you guys.

He didn't quite bend enough for the helmet to save his arse. Thank The good divine entity (Sharples) that it was on his head though...

did even hit the tree. looks like he washed out into it? and were they super monster Ts? if so, it would explain the huge buck he got.

hmm... i think that might just be a set up, i think that the voice is a dub-over, and by the look of his skin colour, he would have either had to been dead for about and hour or two or suffered extreme blood loss.
but still...

Lets just make a point here, the guy isn't dead in that video because, as was pointed out above, he's moving.

Further more, he hit that tree hard, but not hard enough to kill him unless a branch gets something vital or he just has really bad luck. I suppose a medical complication could potentially cause him to bleed to death internally or some such, but it's unlikely that such a person would be risking death riding.

I've seen guys hit tree's skiing and snowboarding ALOT faster than that and all have survived. Further I would say that vid is put on, it may have been a serious accident but it looks as though some editing has been done to the shots and i dare say I agree with the comment that it maybe a voice over.

That said, the Vish Files isn't a fake. Don't worry the guy survived but it's a very suitable warning they give, look after yourselves guys and girls, it's your choice.

Watching it again, I agree that the scream/groan is prob not real.

You can go that pale just from having a big shock or scear, like haveing a bad stack.
His paleness is prob not from his (suposed) injuries, but from the stack itself.

ive had a collapsed lung and cracked ribs, it takes more than a few months to even breathe properly, let alone train. ribs take even longer cos they cant be set in plaster, and all you have to do is roll over in bed to hard and they recrack. not to mention breathing is very painful.

Not so. I think that this video is a perfect reminder of the inherent risks involved in our sport. Ones that everyone should be aware of. As said before it was a seemingly simple gap and things can go wrong.
