Has anyone done any riding in Hawaii?

I’m currently stuck on the little Island of Kauai on a work trip. I was wondering if anyone has ridden here before? They advertise a Downhill Adventure ride, but its just riding down a tar road. Was wondering if its worth hiring a bike and going exploring?

I had to leave my DH bike in Honolulu. Cant really complain, heading to Canada for an MTB adventure on the 24th, yeehaaaaaa.

Check this (http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=186366) thread on mtbr.

There was a thread on Ridemonkey the other day , but it has disappeared. Too spammy probably.

Cheers for the tips. I am hoping to get a day off on the weekend. Might go hire a bike.

I am on Kauai, there is no real surf here. So bike riding it shall be.

On Oahu,

Try Barnfield's Raging Isle Sports on the North Shore, got my Intense there a few years back. The owners name is Bill if I remember right.

Address 66-250 Kamehameha Hwy

Location In the North Shore Marketplace, Haleiwa

Phone 808/637-7707

There are plenty of places to ride there, watch out for dirt bike riders they are jumpin all over the place there. Grab a ride there on the way to Canada?

Also go down to Pine Trees on Kauai for a wave its better than it looks.
