Item: 888R
Location:Toowoomba
Item Condition: Varies. Lowers have a tiny crack that seeps a little oil, and there is a little staunchion rash, but both cartridges are in perfect condition, as are the crowns and one of the staunchions. The crack is literally tiny, its so small you can barely see it. However, I've included a picture (no 2). The crack is on the far left, you'll have to look pretty hard.
Reason for selling: Bought them because I wanted to put the cartridges in the Boxxer I'm also selling, but decided against it.
Price and price conditions: $200 + postage
Extra Info: The staunchion scratches have been repaired with metal filler and careful sanding by the previous owner, so unless you are one of those really pedantic people that worries about cosmetics, there is no need to replace it. The other staunchion is perfect.
The seals and bushes are flawless, there is no damage or leaking, and the action of the fork feels exactly as a 888 should - Buttery smooth.
The lowers are cracked about midway between the fork arch and pinch bolts. The crack is 1.5-2cm long. It seeps a little bit of oil every compression. There are two options here. Firstly, Bike Addiction can do a carbon wrap to strengthen and seal the area, or, you can grab a set of lowers brand spankers from your LBS for $350 (or lower, if you're chumps) and potentially grab a cheap 888.
Lastly, I'm pretty negotiable on price, but buyer does pay postage. So hit me up with an offer, and you never know your luck.
I'll get pictures of every inch of the fork once Exams finish.
