wasnt sure where to post this, figured it was a non-mtb related subject so yer, anyway...
i'm in the process of buying a bike, and the cheapest postage option my seller can find is air-mail thingo which is $80 and i have to go to the airport for pickup (really inconvenient) so i was just wondering, basically, what is the cheapest method of postage?
cheers
If neither of you have access to a couriers please account, then take both wheels out and mabey even the fork so you can fit it inot a box that is less than 105cm each way, it'll probably wind up costing close to as much but it'll come to your door.

Depends how heavy the parts are, and how big they are.
Maybe get the guy to rip the bike apart, bubble wrap the parts, scrunch up a shitload of newspaper into balls and stick a few layers of that in a bigass box, then stick the smaller parts (i.e not frame, forks, wheels) and then another layer of newspaper balls, then more parts etc.
Send the forks, wheels and frame seperately.
Get a fork box from a LBS, same with a wheel box and bike box (for the frame). They should give them to you for free cos they just throw them out anyway.
Don't know if that will be cheaper though, but more convenient.
T's idea is good too
