Now I don’t want to be a nuisance but it seems apparent that people friends are starting to bump other friends for sale items “free bumps” are starting to become more current. In some of the for sale threads, there has been up to 6 or 7 different friends giving “free bumps” to rise the thread to the front page and where the seller doesn’t have to drop the price or give any information. I was just curious if this has almost been slipped on by the Mod’s (Please don’t take offence) you guys are doing a great job I was just wondering about it, and to see if anyone was looking into it? now i appreciate some of the mod's are on vacation to the worlds but this has been happening for a few weeks now. just wondering what the situation of it was and wheather it has been considered o.k. to do?

No offence taken... and you're absolutely right.... the Free Bumps from mates is really NOT on and we'll add it to the list of "Kill On Sight" infringements. :)

You can report those posts if you feel something has slipped past us. Mates bumping For Sale posts with useless drivel really shits me too.

Yes, it's up to the seller to describe the bike for sale. So that does count as a "free bump".

Replying to For Sale Threads

One of the biggest problems we have had thus far is the way people are replying to sale threads. Using common sense will avoid most of these problems.

* Read ALL replies prior to posting your own. There is no point 1500 people asking the same question over and over with multiple replies of the same answer.
* If you query doesn't need to be in the publics eye, pm the seller.
* Do NOT slant the user or item that is being posted. Eg. Someone selling boxxers, and someone replies with "Boxxers suck". Any replies like this WILL be deleted and the person responsible will receive a warning or something along those lines.
* Respect the buyers wishes and stay on topic. Admin expect to only see replies that are about the item to be sold.
* Replies to confirm the item's condition and/or buyers credibility are acceptable, but please keep them to a minimum. Example: person A says that they have seen person B's for sale item and verify its condition. We should ammend this or remove it altogether if we are going to enforce some kind of ban on mates posting in for sale threads.

I agree, it shits me too, but the rules actually allow it.

I agree with all that is said.. in my recent for sale threads, ive had people bumping up my post..
i havent asked them they have gone and posted un needed comments.
Pisses me of, and its in my thread, must piss other people of even more!

You can kind of tell who is bumping for who, and just ignore those posts!
It annoyed me the most before the upgrade, where it just said, you have a new post in your thread blah blah (email notification) .. and i would go and see what it was, ..and its just some one decideing to give me a free bump..!!

a bit off topic but another thing that annoys me is when people you have never met badmouth what you are trying to sell, by saying "they look crap" or "i have seen the elsewhere for a much cheaper price".
they obviously have no interest in buying it and it just puts other people off wanting to buy it.

end rant

Well that is totally against the rules and you only have to report the post to us by clicking on the exclamation mark to the bottom left of every post and it will be removed AND a warning given to the poster.

Don't worry about a link, i'll put my hand up!

It wasn't bad mouthing either (not intentionally anyway), i was merely quoting an earlier post alerting him to the fact that he may have a better chance of selling if his price was lowered.

Here's the link anyway: http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=59371

Sorry if you took offence brad
