Ebay are a f***ing pack of twats for that. Online Scalping has become such an epidemic back in the UK that you've gotta go on ebay just to get served at the deli counter at the supermarket!

Seriously though theres been a huge backlash in the music press because it is getting beyond a joke. ALL festivals normally sell out within the first couple of hours of the tickets going on sale but Ebay are refusing to stop it as it means less customers for them. The record companies are pretty non-commital as well as it guarantees a fast return on their outlay. The only organisation I've any respect for is Michael Eavis's Galstonbury festival who are at least trying to make each ticket personally registered and non-transferable.

I'd love to suggest a boycott on ebay but it'd be impossible. It's just too damn popular!:(

We couldnt get tickets for Sydney, on the phone for hours. Ticketmaster should make a limited amount of tickets per customer.
Im devastated, gutted almost crying.:(

For stuff like this, i think online and phone bookings are useless. Got to be first at the window I reckon.

I'll be OS anyway, so I don't feel so bad.

This is true to an extent, but the way they pretty much do it now is that you line up at an outlet, and then that outlet starts getting tickets electronically from the same pool as the internet and the phone sales, and then they print them out. I lined up for Falls this year at an outlet, was about 12th in queue and people 20th in line and the dozen people after them missed out.

This may sound a bit nerdy but if you want to get tickets these days it really pays to join the mailing list for a festival or the official fan club. Signing up tends to give you access to tickets before they go on sale to the general public. People on the Falls festival mailing list were given the chance to buy 2 tickets each, a couple of days before they went on sale to the general public. They had reserved half the tickets to be sold this way so if you had wanted tickets all you had to do was be on the mailing list. Same goes for Blues and Roots, I got an email about buying pre-release tickets a week ago.

I know that most official fan clubs have certain numbers of tickets allocated to there members before all plebs. So if you really want to see a band/ festival get smart and join a club, its what all the cool kids do

whyyyy not just walk into the nearest agent? best option, honestly. theyl fill out the paperwork before they open and just process it when the place opens.

I didn't even realise he was gonna go...!

Scored so big !!

the problem for me is that im in W.A. and it was sold out before the outlets here even opened. i still think there should be a limit of tickets per person. one thing that made me happy was seeing someone with the ebay username 'diescalpertrashdie' bidding. nice work bud.

I disagree, I had a mate who tried to get tickets over the counter yesterday, he camped out and was 11th in line. He missed out on gold tickets and is now stuck a mile away from the action.
If the people in front of you take too much time you'll miss out because all the spots get snapped up online and over the phone.

I'm going with my little brother and a few of my mates; 6 gold floor tickets.:)
