If you are talking about transfering them from the computer, then one of these three options (all work on your phone).
Bluetooth
You will need to buy a bluetooth kernel.

Infrared port
You will need to buy a IR transmiter thing-o...
(can't find one easily, so I gave up :p )
USB
You need the USB cable.

If its new, it should come with a USB cable.
Although, the easiest by far would have to be bluetooth.

you have to make sure they are mp3. if they came from itunes, chances are that they may be aac (the extension is m4a). simply use itunes to convert them to mp3 and then upload the mp3 version onto your phone. ive done it numerous times without any hassle.
the bluetooth dongles are definately worth the money tho, as you can adhoc connect almost anything. which is handy when mates come over but dont bring any cables.

Some phones are limited to certain bitrates too, you may have to re encode them at a lower b/r. check your phone manual for more details.

My V3x is restricted to 192kbs, which is more than enough for a mp3 anyway. Most of mine are 128kbs.
As its been said, if you get your music through iTunes, it will need to be redownloaded from another program with Limewire (not illegally of course :p ) and put them on via the USB cable.
