Here is my freshly built up hardtail, built using my downhill bike's parts so it looks a bit overbuilt. Its a nice frame made by aireal industrys back in there day. It rides awsome, so much more responsive then a downhill rig and very light too.

When i have some more money i will build it properly but for now its sweet.

what are you going to build it up for (as i presume thats a temp build?)... those chainstays look quite long

don't want to sound like the naysayer here.... so i'll go at this with a 'public safety' angle. those old liquid frames would shear off at the headtube whilst running just single crowns..... it was VERY common. so running a dual crown fork on that particular frame is asking for disaster.

its a shame because they look quite nice. just be warned is all.

ummm dude for your own safty i wouldent ride it.
why. i had one of those frame's i was runing 100mm forks and i snaped the frame i never really road the bike just on the street they have a bad reputation of breaking under the head tube.
so take it easy dude.

good parts u got there, not really suited to the liquid but, 8inch, and triples are over kill and as everyone has said "those frames aren't all there cracked up to be" ;) but none the less they are nice frames to look at

Yeh i have herd the rumours guys but it really doesn't bother me that much, i only paid $150 for it anyway. the tripples will ony be on it for my school camp and then they are coming off. I will probably build it up for 4x and a bit of dirt jumping. when it breaks I will just buy a new frame:rolleyes: . the chainstays arn't that long, it's quite easy to manual but yes they are longer then your street/dj frames. Probably better suited to 4x.

Your school camp requires dual crowns? Man I wish I was at your school!

Yeah, be careful with that one. I used to own the exact same frame, I ran 5 inch marzocchi singles and it cracked. After a repair, I ran some 3inch forks and the frame was fine.

Overall though, solid build. Just ditch those boxxers for some small singles...

yeh I will probably chuck some lightish forks on, somthing like manitou blacks or minutes. if it cracks i might get gripsport to put a gusset on the headtube.

Yeh mate, tinkerbell's right. I have one (same colour frame as yours and everything but i repainted it). The previous owner had run 120ish millimetre travel forks and it cracked underneath the headtube junction.
For your own safety's sake, buy some cheap short travel forks until you get the good ones. By cheap i mean a set of old commuter RSTs or something.
You may get laughed at, but it's sure better than having your bike snap in two while at speed.

EDIT: Just read further up the post, RTD was the previous owner. That's the right story :p
