i bought some parts for my r/c from a shop in sydney. they sent them up (im in the 'bush'). anyways, one of the parts broke before i even installed it. it rolled off the table, weighs about 20grams without failing it should not of broke. it has to handle the abuse of racing/jumping and general bashing. talked to the shop, sent it back and they sent me a replacement. the packet was stapled together (instead of the plastic tray? part fully glued to cardboard backing). the part that broke originally on the part i sent back (threaded part in the end of an aluminium rod) looked slightly bent to me. i installed the parts, went to adjust it, its a turnbuckle for adjusting toe-in/out. bloody thing broke again!! the slightly bent looking end funnily enough!
im 99% certain they glued it back in. im going to ring them tomorrow, and as calmly as possible suggest they send me a brand new packet, which ill get my ma or pa to pick up or ill contact the consumer commision.
does this sound like the right path to take??

Dang!.......
Can you purchase the parts from somewhere else ?
If they are no good, you should ask for a refund, once you get the refund, ring them, tell them they are no good, tell them why you think this, and tell them you are not going to use them again.
When customer satisfaction was important, you would have probably recieved a free part and an apology, but I dont think that happens anymore.
definately threaten with consumer affairs...especially with a small company like this (Im assuming it was), dealing with consumer affairs will make them wet themself...I've had success, usually all it takes is the threat...Go for it, you've been jipped, you have rights...

What model of rc was this for? I can say that a tie-rod would not just break on its self. Like the others have said, try and get a refund and shop else where?
What brand is it, there might be a better suppiler then the one you are using now.

it was for a traxxas.
i havn't been able to talk to the boss at the shop but they know whats happened, so i just ordered a new one from somewhere else. i was peed off when i started this thread so im over it now. the only thing is this shop is a bloody good one, the best one i've been able to find for price, knowledge of brand, always have everything in stock and price.
so i could of got all threatening (and im probably not good at that!) and not had a place to shop. i live in tamworth- we have 2 hobby shops 1 sells traxxas cars but no back up parts.
