i have just got a new 07' STP 1 and im thinking about startin 4X racing at my local BMX track. The bike seems fast and all the parts seem strong but im wondering if this bike will be good for racing? and also seeing as it is new(4 days old!) will it still be under warranty if i use it for this kind of racing?

has the chain dropped at all? you might want to think about getting a chainguide, then the bike would be set for 4X. because dropping a chain would be quite a bumber in the middle of a race. other than that they have a pretty solid spec list, so all should be good.

yeh, they'll be sweet.if you're dedicated to 4x,your going to turn weight weenyish.but get a chain guide at least.but go for it.

um,if the box guide is in working order it will work fine, because it's light and should do the job if working properly.if you don't know how to fix it,get your lbs to look at it,of course.when working will be fine for 4x.get grippy pedals if not using spd, with lock-ons.learn how to control your bike in the air too.

as soon as you use it in one race, the warranty is gone... but you dont need to tell them that now do ya ;)
also i use mine for racing and it's quite a nice bike on the 4x track although mine has been changed abit, but seeing as all the 07' bikes come out with quite nice parts it should be good.
have fun..

lol, doesn't it say on the giant website that the STP's are good for the 4x track?
probably would have been the best place to look. :p

yeh, i went into my LBS 2day and just found out about the warranty, aparenlty the warranty is void for any damage caused by 4X racing but just beacause i have used the bike for a race the normally warranty WONT be void. So as soon as i get my helmet im thier!!!
Cheers for all your help
