You can see the landing for that jump in the next pic on the left hand side. I think its the camera angle that makes it look rough but those jumps are FINE.

In reply to the first post in the thread: The trails in pictures 4 and 5, are they a secret locals only deal, or does a "if you dig we will let you ride" mentality apply?
Here's our crews contribution, its fairly shabby at the moment as we have been flat out with filming for our movie and havent taken many stills yet.

Built some impromptu shore in the backyard over the last couple of days. Pretty rough but I have to assemble and disassemble after every sesh. This does make for flexibility in layout though which is good. The trade-off is that you can't quite trust it:rolleyes: !!
We'll start with a pic of my nephew for scale. He's 6 foot 5 inches (tallest 4 yr old I ever saw;) )

It has been a while between pics on this thread so Ireckon it's time for some new stuff.
I went down to my Brothers house over the new years break with a trailer full of wood and no plans other than to add to the growing number of obstacles at his place. this is what we made in a day and a half of pretty hard work (with a couple of rides in between of course)

I have been slowly building up my confidence and distance on my ramp out the front. I am up to 14' (4.2m) between the apex's of the up and downramps. I did land a fair way down my downramp on quite a few of those so I reckon the total jump length would be about 20'.
There are a couple of limiting factors, the first is that the downramp is only 1.2m wide which isn't a prob at 4m but might become problematic at 6m +. The second is that I have to turn fairly sharply off the road to hit the jump and the further back I move the upramp the smaller the straight area before the take-off. I'm down to about 12' of straight. Enough whinging, but I am jealous of you country folk.
Bugger it! I'm having a ball and my riding is improving.

There are many plans for this place. If anyone is keen to dig drop me a line and I'll hook you up with some ghetto goodness.

AWESOME!!! Wow guys the Perth secne is going off. I left Perth and moved the east about five years ago, its great to see heaps of people riding and building some excellent stuff. Especailly the Thornlie jumps. I grew up there and remember spending all my spare time building jumps. Nothing as awesome as whats there now. I'll be back in the motherland over xmas and will be looking to hook up for some rides. Hope to catch up with some fellow farkers then.

What an eventful day! The track has been dubbed Ewok's Crossing.
Check out brent just before he plowed through some large rocks using his head!

how bigs that drop?
The shore is 2.2m (just over 7 ft) But the ramp is about 90cm(3 feet) at the tallest point. The average drop height to landing is about 180cm (6 feet). It's not a straight drop so you have to turn off the top (just to make it interesting)

Note: not a good idea to use your head to stop you on a rock

Fun fun fun!
Some great riding and some great crashes, I think Scott massive case tip's out Will knackering at the bottom for best crash and Hamish definitely wins for sketchiest skethkin for his last 4 double jumps. here is some proof.
First Hamish as Bender

Thought I'd go the gravedig on this thread.
Funnily enough the last pics I put up are from the same location as the last.
Crazy weekend was had! A lot of yahooing, a little riding, and a collection of crazed, addled, pyro headed bogans.
Here are the pics anyhoo,

Here are a couple of pics of some jumps we made down south a while ago. The first jump is about 3.5m, the second is about 4.5m and the step down you can get about 6or 7m easy.
Not bad for a mornings work!!
