I have a 416 and im going SS on it. As i wont be needing the chainguide anymore i was wondering wether to get a new sprocket or not. My current one is an E Thirteen SST and it says on C.R.C.com the RRP is $365.
I dont know anything about sprokets and i was wondering what some good sprokets are. And this will probably sound stupid but would most spokets be compatible with a 416? i have 3 peice cranks but do you need anything else?
I ride dirt jumps and street.
Also how much should i sell the SST guide for? heres the link: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=11447

Guide is worth about $150 used, $200 with the sprocket. Anything nice in bmx land will work well, profile/solid/kink/shadow/tree/primo etc, all around $80-140. If you want to go cheap a snafu comes in around $59 and does the job well enough.

If you do get a BMX sprocket you will have to get BMX cranks as well, which cost a fair bit if you want a decent set.
MTB sprockets dont look as good but they're still alright. I recommend Diety.
If you want a BMX sprocket, get a profile, diety, or primo USA :D

Its the same no matter what BB. Though their is different step down collars for different spindals. So take you bb in or ask for one to fit a 19mm spindal.
Heres some inspiration..

Middle one yes. Top and bottom will require spiders.

I now have a Macneil Guard sprocket and I was wondering around how much do the collars cost?

$4-8. Head to the lbs with the axle and the sprocket.

Thanks j5ive. Hopefully i'll go down tommorow.
On the inside of the guard on my sprocket it has been damaged by a chain. Would this affect perfomance?
Has anyone had any bad experiences with Macneil Guard sprockets?

Nah, just a bit of wear n' tear. On my old Primo Analog I got some scratch marks on the inside of the guard from the chain running. It's no biggie, unless it's quite tight and literally gringing away the inside.
Macneils are great. I'm over guarded sprockets at the moment, micr-gearing and a clean ring is where it's at ;) .

Yeah but im learning sprocket stalls and i dont what to wreak a sprocket. Plus i didnt want a profile Imperial which is the only other option I had. They are the STPs of sprockets.
