Thornleigh skate park is now open....(im not sure its officially open though). It is at 1A Dartford road in thornleigh.

i know its a grave dig butttttt, im wondering whats happening with the skatepark? any news at all would be nice... im itching to ride the thing

I made this thread a long time ago, it’s been brought back by someone so…… a few things have changed.
They have now made a flying fox (about 15m long) and a jungle jim at one area of the complex, it is open to the public. They have also put up signs saying "future golf driving range" and "future bmx park" so still waiting for them to build!!!! I’m sure this is going to be a great spot for the bmxers, as there are plenty of stair railings and natural down ramps ;)

The only negative aspect of the skate park is the gates are close the same time the brickpit stadium is closed (9.30pm) the flood lights at skate park are set to automatically turn off, so no late night runs i guess! The area is also patrolled by security.

Apparently young riders have been asking since the year 2000 to build some sort of Skate Park, hence why they have approved it.
When they do start building (when ever that is), it will take approx 8-12 weeks weather permitting

Say "accept" at the bottom of the page which come up, and on the next page put in "dartford road" for street name and Thornleigh for suburb

A gravedig for the word.... finished....? I thought they had to re-lay the ground or something ?

well the aprk is finished, but it isnt open. "ladscaping" isnt finished yet lol. Rangers occasionally come, but yeh, its rideable atm.

Yea, it is pretty much open now. I went down there on sunday and its flooded with people, looking good. It's just off dartford road (over the bridge) (aka brickpit). :)

You wouldn't believe how much effort I just went through to upload and post this pic of the park. I had to go to the hornsby shire website, download the .pdf file, take a screenshot of that file, crop that screenshot, save it, upload it onto photobucket and finally copy the code below here. You guys better appreciate it!

I wen't up there today and got some awsome snaps of some 'Berowa BMX Bandits'. They were ripping it. It is by far the smoothest park I have been to(probably because it is brand new) and is bloody sick!

no he cant, he was wan*ing off to them and he got so frustrated nothing was happening, that the tweezers he was using ripped a hole in the pictures.
