What tires have people been using for the olympic park 4x track?

Been getting into the 4x/Dj but im not sure what tires to get, im running a hardtail with a 4inch fork.

So far i have tried my street tires (holy rollers, 60 compound single plys) and a set of high roller semi slicks i had lying around (60 compound dual ply 2.35) and both have been crap to say the least.

Not getting any bite from side knobs as all the corners are banked and the ground is hard as and slippery. Tires just want to slip so i loose all the speed in corners making the jumps more difficult then they are.

I was thinking of getting some tires with a bit more middle tread, like maybe some bling blings, larsens of maybe even going for some full on DH tires like DHF minions in 2.35.

Any suggestions?

Bling Blings are good at Homebush. They gives lots of grip around the inside lines, but they don’t roll too well, but it doesn’t make that much difference. I haven’t tried it personally, but some run a Larsen TT on the back to help them roll that little bit better. Hope that helps.

I was out there last week with the single ply Larsen TT in the 2.0 size front and rear and they were terrible! They just went sideways on the first corner, was not impressed.

I agree, the running a Larsen TT on the front is a deathwish.
