the wall isn't directly under the bank so he could use it as a jump and hop. i think he would 180 out onto the back and head the other way but that would hurt, or use the stairs as a landing if he really liked pain

I think a degree of cynycism can be healthy. I am not saying that the pic is fake, but I am saying that you can't believe everything you see on the internet.
edit : if someone wanted to fake a shot like that, it would have been quite easy. if someone wanted to fake the video, that would have been pretty simple too. a good exampe of faked video is the one in the link above. the only reason they got caught was because they pushed the speed of the rider a bit too far out of the realms.
- again, not saying that it is fake (i don't really care), but that it can be done.

Sure,
Everyone has varying degrees of cynicism in them, but like i said, there are alot of cynics (cynical by their nature) on this forum.
As in, they see something that they cant do (like the wallride in this thread) and straight up call it a "photoshopped picture". THAT degree of cynicism is not healthy and quite a flaw in character IMO.
Anyway, without letting this digress to far....

just because every time you get on a bmx or a rigid your so unsmooth that you hurt your precious little wrists and ancles, doesnt mean others cant be smooth. im sure he made it to the landing he is a crazy rider, but, even so, ive seen plenty of vids of people doing drops to flat just as high on bmx onto concrete (rather than the grass in this pic) and riding away.

I don't think anyone is arguing the point that Ruben can ride well.
What has been said re it looking like he's already turning down, that it's hard to see where the hell he could land without serious injury and that there's some weird pixellation in the image just below him still stands.
I'd love to see more of this sequence but frankly, saying "OMG, Ruben is just a madcor rider, why don't u guyz believe us?, watch untitled." isn't terribly helpful.
It's a mad bit of riding but it's a seriously crap photo from a proof point of view.

Don't take this the wrong way but both those wallrides look way easier that the original TransACT one pictured. the takeoffs and landings look achieveable, in the one over the door he hasn't started turning down yet (which he appears to have done on the transACT pic, well before what looks like the halfway point of a ride that would lead to anything approaching a tranny rather than a drop to flat)
I still want to see a clearer shot or a link to that TransACT sequence because it looks truly mad.

great video, that stuff was big but it wasnt massive. the last gap was huge for a bmx but there was nothing there that i havent seen done on a mtb. obviously you've never seen the massive gaps in the red bull rampage or on the north shore. it seems like some people are convinced that if they did a gap on a bmx and did the same gap on an 8 inch travel mtb that the bmx would be a smoother landing. sorry but i cant for the life of me work out how that could be possible.

It is POSSIBLE to land just as smoothly on a BMX as you can on an MTB, that doesn't mean that it ALWAYS is or that anyone has even said that is always is. You're getting yourself worked up over a post that you've misunderstood the content of.

your body can only absorb so much. wouldnt it be better to use up your 8 inches and once u bottom out u absorb with your body?

honestly no. and good luck getting up there with 8 inch+ of travel.
You're sure to bottom out and make a nasty noise, so what use is suspension? itll just blow through the travel and have little or no effect, + being less maneuverable would be harder to bring in to land.

1) NO chance of getting anywhere near that wall with 8inches of travel (as roasted said).
2) your arms and legs have at least 12 inches worth of equivalent travel (and of course even more in your legs) so you actually have more than your 8 inches.
3) when is it EVER a good idea to bottom out your suspension before you start absorbing with your body? fool
