Awesome ride...I'm building up a Santa Cruz Nomad just like it that hopefully will be done by the end of this week. Also wondering if you had a chance to weigh it yet?

Pretty nice bike mate.

You really need to change the cranks and wheelset though.

As per above...

I'm assuming weight is a huge consideration on this bike, so I would recommend some different components (eg. new cranks, wheels and others).

I'm not denying the fact that its a good bike, I'm just helping by recommending ways he can improve it.

In what way?

Xt's and deemax's are light and strong, they suit the bike in every way.

First of all killer bike, have you had a chance to weigh it? Awesome part pick

Yes deemax's and relatively light along with xts. However a lighter, better wheelset would be dt swiss 340 hubs on mavic 823 rims with revolution or supercomp spokes. The 823 is essentially the same as the deemax - the yellow.

Yeah, but 721s on Hope Pro IIs would be a fair bit lighter, not to mention that the Hope hubs would be 100 times better. As for cranks XTs are fine.

Yeah, but then the wheels wouldn't be yellow!
I thought pretty hard about the component choices, and the wheels were amost DT swiss 5.1 rims on 340 hubs, or crossmax xl's.

It really came down to the tubeless capability, and yellow.

i kinda wished i had waited a bit longer, because there is a new mavic wheelset out next year called a crossmax SX or something, which sounds ideal.

Weight: We only have dodgy scales at work, but according to them, about 15-16 kg. I'll try to get a more accurate measurement in the near future.

As for the price, well, you do the maths if you really wanna know.....

As for above guys, about his component choices, I was merely joking and the comments I made were not serious. The owner as stated above has carefully chosen the components and his choices have combined to create a piece of art to ride.

This bike is awesome and looks even better in real life. My brother has ridden it and he thinks it was very good to ride.

I am looking forward to seeing this thing out on the tracks and am interested to hear the comments on how it handles in a range of conditions.

Wow, that looks awesome. Last of the proper Enduro's too, since they've ditched the range for that lamearse in house fork'n'shocked thing...

Hmm... matter of opinion that I don't agree with. The Enduro is a fantastic bike and I'm super jealous of the owner, but I always disagreed with the fact that they used the name "Enduro" on a bike that nobody would ever use for endurance riding.

IMO - this bike (http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=26247) was the last of the "proper Enduros"...

Aside from that, though, I'd love to own the bike that is the subject of this thread. It would fill the hole between my Stumpy and my DH bike perfectly.

I was waiting for Bodin's thoughts (being an FSR and all), and as usual he is correct;

I disagree with the model name too, and bodin's enduro is way more enduro-ey than mine,
And
It will fill that gap between my non existent dh bike and my non existent stumpy very nicely.

LOL - I've got more interest (bias?) in Specialized bikes than an issue of Mountain Bike Action... Honestly though, I love bikes in general and you'll find I don't really pay anything out (except Kona), but Specialized just happens to be what floats my boat.

With regards to your Enduro, it would be the bike I'd go for if I had to have a "one bike". One set of wheels for DH, one set for XC and a flippable stem. Sweeeet.

Ah phil about time you posted it up here. Very very nice. Pics don't do it justice. This bike is pure sex. I wanna sleep with it.:o Can't wait to get out doing Old Bathurst Road soon and see how it goes.
Couldn't argue that spec list one bit.

I'm with Daver on this one, but regardless I need a fresh pair of underwear. That is HOT!

Nice...

I'm think'n a big(ger) bike project for next year is in order... I tried the "One bike to rule them all" thing with the scott. One ride of the epic and I was convinced that was a bad thing...

...Enduro is the next baby in my sights. Dunno if I like the yellow rims but it's an awesome build regardless.

oh, and I don't get this weight weenieisms over a an all mountain bike! anyway...

Hope she looks after you ;)

Cheers

with a build like that why not go for the sx trail 2 frame? i would have thought it would suit the components.

nice bike none the less

 Yeah Right! thats pretty hectic.....
Fatnold, are you the guy who had an RP3 rear shock on your enduro?
Did you get warranty on the arm?
Also just wondering how you snapped the swingarm, tell us the story!

As for the SX frameset, it is heavier, has a coil-over, isn't an s-works and i couldn't get it at the right price....

Yes. I had to use my RP3 on the enduro with a home made mount for a while. i was sick of the 5th element letting me down so I decided to order the custom after market DHX Air. I used the RP3 while waiting to get me by. In the end I got sick of waiting for fox so i got 2 of my 5th elements repaired. Neezy had a couple of new mods for it. it is holding up and riding nicely.

i got warranty on the first one . (the completely snapped one). Specialized said they would consider warranty on the cracked one because it was less than a year old. i'm now waiting for the verdict.

As for how did i do it.......just riding along. I only use that bike for trails. nothing heavy duty. i found the crack just washing the mud off after the 12hr and the complete break happened when i jumped of a little (3') concrete ledge on the way home from a ride. i'm not generally that hard on bikes. I don't wreck wheels or even break spokes.

I guess all frames have their limits. ( especially when the rider is 106kg's  )

i still love the bike and am sure you'll love yours.

Tsk tsk. Single pivot is the only path to salvation for big guys (unless of course its an Orange:rolleyes: ).
