They dont look like carbonfibre cable ties to me. Don't you want it to be strong and lightweight? sheesh!

Good to see the speed holes in the cardboard though.

You'll never be able to get enough adjustability in chain tension with those drop-outs you'll need to use a tensioner.

I find Sydney's roads to be much more challenging then most XC courses of late :)

Fair call, and given most XC courses are more challenging than most DH courses lately does that mean road is the new extreeeeeem?

Not wrong there, this mornings 80k's had much more excitement/scary moments than the 12 hour on the weekend, but that was mostly due to triathletes in the bunch than anything else:mad:

Fuckin aye. Moving obstacles are the main highlight. Trees just don't jump out in front of you on the dirt like a gool ol motorist or pedestrian can. The whole lack of armour or nylons makes the situations "fooly Xtreem"

He will sell the thing before daylight saving arrives. However....if he does make it to daylight saving I will make a special trip to throw rocks, that would be some good payback!
Ride on Squid, maybe someday we'll see you on some dirt again.....(when he chooses another passing fad :p ).

Damn it! you beat me Grant! Well next up for weight loss would have to be the head hair eh?

Cool ride squid, a bike's a bike, and more is good, whether it's a bmx, a roadie, or heaven forbid, a fold-up birdie bike.

Nice one squid CAAD8s are definately the best al frame available, Im not so sure on your build though, but each to their own i guess

Id go with campy (record/chorus depending on your budget) handbuilt wheelset (240s hubs) deda newton bar/stem and it would be tight

How does that work when the only DH runs you smash me on are the NON-pedally ones?
Ride on Squid, maybe someday we'll see you on some dirt again.....(when he chooses another passing fad :p ).
So you think i've lost the love eh? The choadie's for getting some decent fitness for DH. Sure my skill needs improving too, but i've got the lung power of a chronic smoker.

Do yourself a favour and don't associate yourself with Grant. He's no.1 on my shitlist.

Tell em to hook a brother up ;)

Either way, there's something special about a road bike branded with MTB names.
We are the new breed

Bwahahaha. I knew you would be too vain to get a Giant :p

Looks like a good way to get fast and clock up the kays under the wheels.

Riding in traffic is way more dynamic than off road, when the trail changes around you as you are riding that is "flow". Every commute is different.

Cost was the major factor of why I don't have the Mavics yet. Shimano's may still be on there for a bit though $$$!

On a side note, just did Church Point and she was sweeeeeeeeeet!
