does the shock heat up like other peoples have in the past (not naming any names here coughsquidcough)

Eddy
14-09-2006, 09:17 PM
no tracks here in sa are long enough or steep enough to get it to heat up so no it hasent heated up yet. Im going to be looking for a coil in the near future, just so i can have a spare at races and other times when if i have a proble with the shock i dont get stuck, but i havent even had it for a week yet so im still getting used to it.

i dont understand where all the weight is in that, tubes aside, and the cromo rear end I didnt think they were that heavy?

that aside kens old frame is lookin schweet as usual, and i wouldnt hate you!

well im running (and dont flame me for this there coming out soon) in the front a slime tube and a standard tube wraped around, and in the back i got a dh tube with another standard around, good thing is i never get flats

and yea it is kens old frame, give it time and the spec will look better and compare with kens, at the moment i need to save my money :p

ahhh weight makes sence now going from4 tubes down to to xc tubes if appropriate i think should make you fall within 18ish.

may i ask why your running 4 tubes?

I would say its for punctures....

I used to run sleeves on my DH tubes, but its not worth it. I now just use DH tubes with Slime in them, and i run minion tyres. I havent had a puncture for the last 2 years with this set up....

The secret is to run tubeless tyres (maxxis) and a stan's no tube kit!!! Works mint, no punctures and lighter!!

careful dude, My ex broke up with me because she said that I rode my bike more than I ride her(and it wasn't like the rides at home weren't frequent) but then again now I don't have someone naging me to come home.

Wow that bike looks incredibly ugly. I reckon it looks horrible, but on the other hand I don't really care how a bike looks, just how fast it goes, so on that I say it's a pimp ride.:)

What dose the roller on the frame actually do? I'm trying to work it out, dose it stop the chain going slack when the rear linkage compresses? And is that just an MRP on a crazy angle, would other chain guides work? Sorry for all the n00b questions, just trying to work it out :) .
Oh and BTW, I really do like it it just looks... nice. Great photography too.

the roller on the linkage actually works by removing any pedal induced bob and feedback from the rear end travel. It actually works really well.
The MRP is standard, just mounted at different angle. Most other chainguides will work, but the twin rollers on an MRP make it a little smoother and more reliable.
The '7' in BB7 stands for 7inches from centre of BB to centre of pivot. The higher pivot gives a more rearward travel path and without having the chain guided as close as possible to the pivot, you'd get major feedback and bob issues.
