I know Thredbo has great downhill but just wondering what their XC tracks are like? I checked out the rawnrg webpage but it seemed to be really big on just selling tours, etc. Are there many XC rides down there that people can just ride around without having to go on a tour?

Whenever I go down for a week of DH, I also take along the XC bike. The loop around the golf course is short, but very sweet.
The climb up friday flat and then up to snowgums chair leaves you with some sweet single track back to the golf course area.
Outr side of thredbo, the management trail to Cascade Hut and beyond is an absolute cracker.
So yeah, there is pleanty of good XC to be had in thredbo.

As has been mentioned, the trail out to Cascade Hut (and beyond to Tin Mine for the keen) is pretty good. IN and around Thredbo itself it's fairly limited, but worth checking out. But your best bet is to be prepared for an epic ride (navigational skills/equipment, food, adequate clothing etc) and to use a topo to check out the labyrinths of fire trails and other service trails on the other side of the valley. Yeah it's doubletrack. But hardly anyone rides there and the views, climbs and descents are pretty epic.

What tyres are you running now mate?
Thredbo would be a pretty damn nice place to a full day long trail ride!

ahh i upgraded to some tubeless tyres/rims (got new bike!) which are *very* nice although the actual make/model of the tyres now eludes me....MTB is in the shop for some TLC and i cant find that pesky receipt! Seems to have cleared up my continual flat tyre problem though!
Yeah I was interested in heading to Thredbo in the summer but more for a XC adventure rather going for the downhill stuff.... :)
