hi everybody,

i have a cream 2003 kona stuff thats being rebuilt. so far i have the frame, cranks, bars, brakes and rotors, shifters and derailluer, and forks (on the way). i have new hussefelt cranks, cienlicke pedals, shimano shifter, shimano alivio derailluer and dirt jam pro forks (06' 20mm thruaxel on the way).

What i really want to is what wheels (front needs to be 20mm thru axel), bashguard/chain device, headset, seat post and chain rings is should run???
And out of those parts do anybody have any cheap ones for sale???
(I no i should posted some of this in the wanted section, but i am currently awaiting trading access)

all replies need asap, as bikes need to be rebuilt asap,

cheers, and all replies are greatly appreciated.

hrmmm, well with wheels, i would say MTX, they seem to work woth any riding style, they are light, extremely strong and look pretty sick too. um with headset, da bomb headsets seem good and chris king, well chris king i think is probably the best headset, but cost a piss load.

Wheels -
Budget but still decently strong - Single Track on Imperial hubs
Strong but still not a bomb to pay for - MTX on Headspin hubs

Bashguard and Chain device - eThirteen (e13)

Headset - FSA Pig

Seatpost - Any will do, if you are dirt jumping it won't be up high enough to need any real strength

Chainring - TruVatiV DH rings are good and light, strong too. But try and get an e13 one if you get an e13 guide. Those e13 crownwheels (I think thats what they're called) are mad.

Headspin hubs are fairly cheap and are very strong.
To get a 20mm/QR convertable hub (front obviously), www.fortheriders.com have them for about $112.
For a rear QR one, they are about $110.

Spokes, DT Swiss Champions are good enough for most people, and are about $1 each. For DT Swiss Competitions they are stronger, a little heavier and more expensive. Competitions RRP at about $1.30 each spoke.

Champion - 1 x 32 (or 36) = $32/$36
Competition - 1.3 x 32 (or 36) = $41.60/$46.80

I'd personally go with Competitions for peace of mind, but Champions will more than likely be enough.

I've got MTX's laced to Hadlies with champion DT's, cost a shit load but no problems after 1 year! I've heard good things about the atomlab rims, and tuff neck hubs if your on a bit of a budget, but go for DT spokes!
Just got a ChrisKing the other week, sweet head set, but also heard good things about those FSA Pig's. If you want something strong go for a deep press headset, but heard that there a bitch to get out.
