first welcome to farkin and secondly i think its a great idea. were you planing on going for single speed or gears.. if your going to be using it for more jumping than transport i would go for ss if its more transport than jumping i would go for gears

try and find a better frame then a Da Bomb, my friend has one and he says it feels reely chunky and doesnt like it but if u want it or can get a deal.......

and if ur gonna buy 2 juicy 5s y not cut your losses and buy a rear juicy 7 or sumthing, and go without a front brake?

also i reccomend pikes they are amazing

like what chriscross said single speed is way better for jumpos and street riding but useless for any long distance riding.
also i you are going to get a frame get an ns, 24, last or something aroung that prive range, they are well worth the money.
if you get a good rear brake you dont really need a front brake.
pikes are good forks so stick with them. or you could try the argles or dj3s if you dont need the adjustable travel, they seem to be more dirt jump orientated.
and also your wheels need to be extremely strong. you would be surprised how easy it is to buckle a rim.
hope this helps

Mitch, please take a little more effort with your posting. Punctuation and spelling are GOOD things around here... TXT/MSN type language is not.

Depending on how much money you have why not buy an STP zero and put all the parts on an ns bitch...or a Da bomb frame?

How much did it end up costing you?

How much did it end up costing you?

Took the brakes and the forks off another bike i had.The rest of the parts probably cost me around $1300. Worth every cent. Great bike.I just now have to learn to ride it.

Whats the reason or suggestion that he should forget about a front brake?

Personally I find a front brake very usefull, for endoign off stuff wich is fun, for endoing up stuff, for stopping quickly in a short space a must for some streeet riding.

I have also ridden without a front brake i found that i was very limited for street, but for dj's it's fine untill someone rides infront of you...

I think only having one brake can limit you to only tricks which can be attempted only if no brake is used.

Seems to leave out front brake trick options, limiting oneself i think.

Seems ok for DJ, but leave no options for stuff done in the street where a front brake could be usefull, not just for the tricks, but for saftey.

Just my opinion...
