Most of your weight will be either, your frame, forks or wheel sets.
Brakes weigh nothing, its not worth the risk...

Loads of bmxers that dont run brakes can still do abubacas and manuals its just a lot harder than normal.me personally though i would run at least one brake unless your only doing something like dirt jumps and stuff similars to that.

Is your bike gyro compatible?
Cause if so you could just run a gyro style front brake (down through the headtube), thus giving you unlimited spinage, and uneffected braking capebilities.
But it wont help with abubacas and manuels....whatever.

Brakeless is one of those things that I would only suggest doing if you are completely comfortable with the idea. Dont just do it cause other people do.

Well, do you do a lot of barspin (or tailwhip for that matter) tricks?
If you don't, then there isn't really any point in going brakeless except for a VERY SLIGHT difference in weight.
If you are trying to lower down the weight of your bmx, have a look at this thread (http://www.bmx-forum.com/showthread.php?t=23021)on bmx-forum (which by the way i think is much more under control and useful that ozscene, although not Australian!)
And if you are going brakeless becuase you hate the tektro or whatever it is that you have, you should think about some of the better brakes (http://www.strictlybmx.com/categories.asp?cID=64) on the market, although they do cost a lot of money, as oppose to going brakeless doesn't cost you a single cent.
We could all give you a lotmore help if you told us why you are thinking about going brakeless and what type(s) of riding you do (without making homophobic comments etc...)

ah, if you are getting brakes to replace your tektros, just get hombre's with some aftermarket pads, they can be dialled in really well if you give them the time, + they dont cost you an arm and a leg.

ive been commuting quite a bit lately on my old BMX w/ out brakes, and im finding it actually not anywhere near as bad as i first thought it would be. at the start if i needed to brake i'd put my foot down, but after a bit i just learned to place my foot between the rear tire and frame and it works just as good as any rear brake (and makes you look pro too if that's what youre after;) ). people will say it wears down your shoes, and yeah, i found that out riding in black leather school shoes..but apart from that, my normal globe's with a regular sole hold up to the abuse well. obviously you cant manual quite as confidently (unless you are pretty alright at it without needing brake) but it teaches you IMO. sorry for the long ranting post, but i'd say give it a shot, even just for a few days and if you dont like it, get brakes.
my 2c.
im currently brakesless because my back wheel started moving. brakesless limits my tricks. there is no real need to do it unless you have the skill too. just coz the cool kids are doing it, doesnt mean you should. makes it harder to learn tricks.
i'd stay with brakes

i took them off yesterday and i love it, it soooooo scary just getting through the city.
i went to the park and can still do things on the back wheel because i didnt use brakes anyways, i just have to put my foot in the whell when i come of a quater into a spine, soooo fun though people i say take your brakes off.
to answer all the other questions i had oddysey evolver brakes with a linear slick cable, i couldnt use my brakes to manual either coz m to unco.

Ya, Unlimited tail whips, who here can do one, let alone two? I'd say a number of us can do one, but if you have a long brake cable that is enough.
If you are weight weenie enough to remove your best safety feature, go XC and buy carbon parts you tightass.
Don't use your bike to make you look pro, ride and earn the respect properly..
They're all cons ;)
