Just gettin back into MTB after a few years out, I owned a custom GT Karakoram back in '96 for quite a few years, fantastic bike, hardtail, light and fantastic paint.
Bought a used Giant ATX 990 Pro back in 2000 this was a custom as well with XT hubs laced to 517 rims, Sid forks and full Xt componentry fantastic bike, sold it when I came to Australia 3 years ago because I just couldn't find the time to ride when I first got here.
Now I'm in the market for another and I've decided to go hardtail again and I'm currently toying with a custom speced up GT Avalance 1.0,XT everything, Mantinou high end forks, Hyd discs lx and the list goes on, excellent cond looks like price around $900.
The other is an Avanti Agressor, again speced up and in great nick, Sids, Xt,Lx all good kit and around $800.
So, pro's and cons for each would be great, or wether ya think they are a decent deal.
I really need to get back on as the last few years of zero Mtb are showing in all the areas us blokes don't want to show slackness!!
Help me out guys and I'll be greatfull.
