My commuter project is off to a flying start, with pretty much all components arrived and ready to install. So my friend and I were mucking about coasting round the street on it, and the forks were acting really quite strange. Compressing all the way down, and not coming back up. Even when they were upside down they'd sink down just under the force of gravity.
So we opened the '96 Judy XC's up and found what James called "Tandoori chicken", I dunno, keep an eye on that kid.

Check it out.

Two caps of both legs, with a core sample of the brew.

My guess is that it is mold. Or anthrax..

elastomer sprung right?

ive seen this happen before- water gets in and over time breaks down the elastomer, making a nice soup. throw dem forks out and buy rigids!!
