you should definetely wait and get the demo 8, however the demo 8 is a dh/race bike, the norco is more of a hard core trail/freeride bike, make the decision on what you ride the most.

It depends on what you wanna do and when...
Racing = Demo 8....The demo is a mad core race bike.
Fr/DH = Norco....The norco imo is a FR/DH bike. A good all rounder

before everyone scarres you off the demo as far as fr/dh goes:
remember its bigger bro is the demo 9
if you get the right size and not too larger frame it will flick around easily so for NS it will be good.... and who says you cant do DH on the demo8?? its just the faster and lighter version of the demo9...its built to take it... just dont go doing any massive 15+m hucks on it
and its got to do with how you like it.... try out a mates demo if you can.... its a very easy bike to get used to (coming from a stp to a demo9 its taken me 2 months so far but if you came from another dually then you would be laughing)
others OPINIONS are great... but dude try before you buy ;) you dont wanna outlay the $$$ and realise that it dont suit you.......

If possible, try out both bikes doing as close to what you normally ride. There are some pretty good 2nd hand Demos that are a lot cheaper than 5 grand if you don't mind not having the latest. They might need repairs/replacements but their price tags are a lot nicer to your bank account
