Hi all.
i just replaced the brake pads in my hydro. dice callapers. the fit good apart from the fact that the gap is to large for the rotor causeing it to constantly rub whilst the bike is in motion. i took out som fluid from the brake and then re bled them but i still have the problem... how do i fix it? or do i just have to wait until the pads wear in?
cheers.
Tom.
Are the pistons as far back as they can go? If they are and its still rubbing alot (ie wheel wont rotate more then a couple of times) then you can either let them wear in, or sand them back abit. If they are only rubbing a tiny bit(it rubs, but still rotates freely) then i wouldnt bother about it.
what you can also do is play around with the mounts to shift the caliper over which ever way it is rubbing
what you do is loosen the bolts on the mount then push the mount (attached to the caliper) whichever way it is rubbing then re-tighten the bolts and you should be set

yeah i would have done this if it was possible. it is rubbing on both sides of the rotor. i will probibly have to sand the pads down a bit. keep it coming i need this problem fixed asap

yeh...i got dice... i rekn they are ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. through and through. 100 bux for new pads.... might aswell put the 100 bux for the pads towards getting some new avids or hayes. just to explain to you how RUBBISH my dice are... the levers are squeaking... i have completly lost all breaking power... they look real ugly... one leaver bent like plastic... and to top it off... i did a simple, easy bunnyhop and wen i landed, THE PADS FELL OUT!!! *clink* hyd. fluid everywhere... pads wrecked.. rotor contaminated... long story short... i reccomend you just buy new breaks... dice are not worth it. for the same price you can do so much better.
