Yeah they feel sort of wierd to grind on for me I'm so used to doing pedal/frame/sprocket grinds. Doing stalls on pegs was fine but couldn't get my head around grinding.
Guess I better start learning i'm really lacking those kinda stunts.

Oh and there was another time when i snapped my kink sprocket, i think i just pedal too hard because i huck everything and anything.

a spray of wd-40 every 5 weeks will protect it... I've stripped the dashboard back to bare metal in my 1965 ford & just a light wipe of wd40 so it doesn't rust does the trick..

and was it hard to do??

you cant run pegs on those 3/8's ay?

Leechie
10-02-2008, 09:36 PM
Yeah nah its a 14mm axel. it was hollow, just had to drill it out bigger and tap the treads. Also cut the axle down so there is still half of it sitting in the dropouts to keep it centered.

Pegs im not sure... its the same thread as a gsport bolt so ya could just chuck one of them in. plently of people run it with a peg and say that they havnt broken a bolt and they have been running it for 2 years. But yeah nah dunno haha.

Thanks man. Ah not really. To be honest I reckon 10.5 to 11 kgs maybe.

Well I bought the frame, headset, stem, pedals, sprocket, bars and cranks. Been saving up and working for a year for all that. I spent $1389. The entire bike Is probably worth around 1900. Thats just off the top of my head tho.

The old SE was falling apart so I needed something sturdy to ride around.

ah thanks Billiam, Bonnie just wants to be like Jemima. I've inducted Josh and his bike into a secret club that I will soon have a shirt for and I will mark Bonnie with it's name too.

I was going to post a pic of me standing with my bike, but I looked like a goon in all the shots I took.

Bazz, I'm using a Snafu gyro, with Dragonfly dual uppers and dual odyssey slick lowers (the cheaper ones). As long as you lube the system once every blue moon, and keep it tuned properly, It works like a dream. Been running the cables for over a year now no fuss. My brakes need to be adjusted since I've been lazy after my wheel moved backwards cos of the 10t. should be sweet soon. My mate josh swapped from GTXR to Snafu and prefers the Snafu, but It does have a steel seal underneath that rusts. Gyro's the bomb anyway.

sketchyC
13-02-2008, 08:48 PM
less cable stretch as well
in straight cables when they are set up nicely, when you pull the lever after it grabs the rim you can still pull it, where as in the gyro that is limited due to the short amount of cable, thus making it work heaps better

if you can get two shimano stainless steel cables 1.3mm, they glide so much easier in the outer. nd chain lube =]
you probably know this already though, meh. added knowledge =]

a 1.3mm wouldnt that be a bit weak or is it fine to run that.

hardly the opposite, its made from stainless, which is high grade metal, resistant to stretching and wont fray as much.
its pretty much the ideal cable to run on the lowers, if you run gyro

But, does anybody know the Australian RRP for Demolition Medial Lite crank arms+spindle?

I know the price is on Dans and Empire, but I'm looking for the Aus price.

Don't quote me on this, but I'd say around $350-400 or so.. Considering their price on dans and the regular price of cranks in Australia..

Yeah good mates with Matty. Tempered has some red hot new gear coming through in the near future too so keep your eyes peeled! And just for the record, i havn't yet seen a V2 tempered frame been destroyed, and riding with dudes up here like Macca and seeing what they put theirs through it's pretty convincing!

Just thought i'd put a bit of tempered knob sucking out there.

Thanks man.
So far the best tyre combo i have run would be big Animal asm on back and 2.25 Ruben on the front.

I really like the zeppelins though
they are very light and very grippy
and take a 65 PSI rating which i really like.

Bi-directional street tires that features a wrap around tread design to reduce wear while grinding. 65 PSI tire rating.

20 X 1.75 (20.3 oz)
